Jalolov won today, but he didn't look as sharp as I've seen him in the past, and was getting mauled by times against a lesser skilled but very determined opponent. His inactivity and poor management is gradually ruining him, as it did with Dychko. He should have signed with a different promoter. This content is protected
I told people Kudukhov would give Jalalov a good go. Khalidov has been a lot more active than people realise too. From memory that was his 11th fight since 2022, and I’ve only seen him lose one of them.
All in bareknuckle or IBA Pro, right? When you BoxRec him it shows his last sanctioned bout happening in 2014.
Yes mate. He did have 1 previous IBA pro bought against a big Kazakh lad, the rest have been either bareknuckle or in Nashdelo which is boxing in a cage with MMA gloves.
He's a good fighter, hope he has a run in boxing now. And isn't one of them Andrey Fedosov Russian HW types that appears once every 3 years.
Thanks for posting this. 'Lackluster' might be a good word to cover it. He came across as someone who isn't taking the transition to pro-boxing seriously and has been content to fall back on 3 round fights, and long periods of inactivity resting on former glories. Tough opponent, and at least he found a way to get across the line. Looked ok early on.
I wish the Russian Heavyweight scene had a domestic title with prestige like the British title. Murat Gassiev, Artem Suslenkov, Murad Khalidov, Arslanbek Makhmudov, Sergey Kuzmin, Arslan Yallyev, Vartan Arutunyan, Georgiy Yunividov, Vitaly Kudukhov, Aleksei Dronov, Apti Davtaev, Alexander Dorofeev, Oleg Zangiev, Evgeny Romanov, Maxim Babanin Kuzmin vs Khalidov was an enjoyable HW scrap to watch. There would be a lot of good fights if they faced each other regularly!
https://www.skysports.com/boxing/ne...ting-a-final-eliminator-against-frank-sanchez Although a few fighters have pulled out including Itauma, not sure if Dubois warrants an immediate IBF eliminator especially having lost to Usyk twice. With that said, Sanchez is an reasonable fight to go into after a KO loss considering as so many fighters have the meaningless tune up fights. But I expect Dubois to stop him in the early to mid rounds.
Yeah the IBF seems to be more forgiving to losses and less forgiving to inactivity compared to the other orgs so Dubois still has a decently high ranking. I think Dubois has been a little bit "exposed" in the one dimensionalness of his style, but he still does it very well and is a big fighter with speed and power, Sanchez will ha e to be switched on all night to win. If I'm understanding correctly the winner of this match will be set up with Chisora for the IBF mandatory and/or potentially an easy title shot if Usyk retires?
The winner will be the mandatory challenger for Usyk according to that article. Unbelievable really - Usyk will have given up the IBF by then surely.
That was a good learning fight for Jalolov. Got roughed up a fair bit and it sapped his energy as the fight went on, but it's fights like that which make you learn more in the pro game.
