Bad cut on Parker in the fourth round, ruled by the ref as being from a clash of heads (so if the contest is halted after this round it will go to scorecards for a TD)

Minor desperately flurrying at Parker, hoping the blood trickle will blind him so he can bail himself out with a stoppage.

Bernstein says that Parker hopes to face a contender next, assuming he gets past Minor here.

IDK that he's ready for that jump quite yet, having never been past two complete rounds tonight and having a fairly padded 20-0 record. He is currently ranked #53 in the world at cruiserweight on BoxRec and his highest position in the alphabet orgs' system has been #14 in the NABA earlier this year (that's the North American affiliate of the WBA...he has since dropped to #15)

On the other hand, he is 34, so time's a-wastin'.

Parker's power put him back in the driver's seat in the fifth. His corner's doing a great job working on that cut.

    R4 - 10-9 Minor (39-36 Parker)
    R5 - 10-9 Parker (49-45 Parker)

Dionardo Minor has only ever been stopped once, by big banger Efetobor "The Nigerian Pitbull" Apochi. The highest profile opponent of his 7-7-1 run has been Tervel Pulev, who beat him via UD6.

Parker still has a few rounds to one-up Apochi's par (he stopped Minor in the 9th).

Minor parrying and countering well, comfortably laying against the corner.

Parker got outlanded in the 6th and 7th but is rejuvenated in the 8th, nudging a shepherding backhanded jab into the sternum and scoring his double left hook up top pushing forward. Still more volume from Minor but it's all pitty-pat as he twists and shimmies against the ropes.

    R6 - 10-9 Minor, close (58-55 Parker)
    R7 - 10-9 Minor (67-65 Parker)
    R 8 - 10-9 Parker (77-74 Parker)

97-92 Parker, didn't score much upstairs in the last two rounds but stayed glued to Minor and never stopped thumping away on the body. Minor mostly grabbing and running in the late going.

Well, his match just now was a real Warped Tour. :deal:

It went from seeming like another early KO for him, to possibly a NC due to a cut, to him maybe gassing and getting stopped, to getting a second wind marching his opponent down until the final bell.

    Official cards:

    95-94
    95-94
    96-93

    UD for Parker

Without the knockdown, it would have been a majority draw.

Carbonell has been out for 11 months, since his last appearance on CountryBox (this is his fourth in a row).

He and William "The Kid" Langston have actually fought twice before, in TCL...a majority draw plus a UD win for Carbonell.

Langston also has a long rivalry with Money Powell IV, splitting a 1-1 series with him in TCL and losing a SD to him in the pros.

Carbonell and Langston both have UD6 victories over Cleotis Pendarvis in the pros.

10-9 Carbonell, very quiet opener, controlled with the right jab.

Horrible call by the ref, giving Carbonell a count after Langston pushed him onto the canvas with his left arm sweeping against the nape of his neck. Bernstein in disbelief.

That officially becomes a 10-8 round for Langston.

Carbonell does seem a little shaken up by the rough shove-down, however, and with under a minute Langston scores a legit KD with a left hook.

    10-7 Langston

    19-17 Langston
