A bit leftfield this one but let's think about it - Chris Eubank's last two bouts were at cruiserweight and Rocky was a heavyweight who would have been a cruiser in later times. Would Rocky's pressure eventually steamroll Chris or would the latter's slashing counters cut Marciano so badly that the fight would have to be stopped? Just to make it more balanced, this bout takes place in Eubank's time when referees would curtail bouts when one man was cut more readily than in Rocky's era.
Rocco would comfortably outwork and outpunch thwimply the bwest. Chris' chin and heart would be his own worst enemy and he would absorb a horrible beating from rounds 9 onwards if he's still standing.
Interesting one Stevie. I think Eubank could hang with Marciano for a while , frustrate him maybe. But the sheer power and relentless pace of Rocky take s it's toll. Id go Marciano by tko 8 - 10
Strange fight not even in the same weight class really. Eubank could certainly add some weight but he's never really fought above 168 at a decent level. Rocky bullies him, outworks him and stops him around the mid rounds mark. Eubank likes a reset break every now and again and your not getting that against a bit punching pressure fighter who can do it for 15 rounds. Euabank is a solid fighter but got stopped by Liam Smith - a middleweight pressure fighter I think that tells us everything we need.
haha only just realized it was in the classic forum. Still think i'd favour the naturally bigger stronger, arguably fitter man. Although Eubank senior might last longer.
Marciano would batter Eubank for a mid rounds stoppage. Eubank's solid chin would only put him at risk for potential brain damage after sustaining so much damage.
Eubank would thoroughly outmodern the little plugger, playing matador with ease and stinging, slashing and cutting the Italianate winger's face in return. Ref calls a mercy stoppage after 3 rounds.
