    They picked a non puncher.
It's the same old formula for these protected brands.
Shot old name or non puncher.

I mean we can see why, they invest a lot into these guys, if some puncher comes in and KOs them they will be seeing millions of dollars go up in smoke.

They have to keep the prospects alive until they can at least cash them out in a title fight or two.

This. Hughie has skills but I remember also that he couldn't knock the skin off of a rice pudding. I'm guessing he's shot now and that they are using him as a stepping stone for Itauma. If Hughie somehow developed a punch and retained his slickness I reckon I'd pick him.

Fury must be wanting a pay day. Not sure why he'd choose to go back in with Ituma if he was serious about getting towards world level.

Its a good opponent for Itauma. Hughie has an extremely negative style though when in with someone who can punch or he is scared of. This could turn into a bit of stinkfest unless the referee gets involved if Hughie turns negative.

Another potential issue with this fight is Hughie's tendency to repeatedly pull out of fights either injured or unwell. With this fight being made, a live standby who is fighting on the same night needs to be reserved due to the likelihood of Hughie pulling out in the last 2 weeks before the fight.

I think Hughie's ambitions to be world level are long gone. Stepped up 3 times and been outclassed by Parker, Pulev and Povetkin.

He has spent 6 years basically bumbling along fighting once per year against nightclub bouncers since then.

If he does turn up for this fight (which is a big question), then it would be some pocket money for him in a fight he knows he will lose.

He’ll probably give Itauma rounds, but it probably won’t be tough and it’ll be a stay busy fight rather than him actually learning much from it.

Hughie blows hot and cold as to if he even seriously likes the game.

How much potential career time has this bloke already wasted?.
