Right after the match Bowe was advised by Larry Merchant to retire after they couldn't understand a word he was saying. Bowe's career ended that night, he would retire and later go onto completely lose it and kidnap / hold his wife hostage. His brain is still fried.

Lewis, right after getting "KO'd", was talking more eloquent than Bowe ever did and complaining about the stoppage. So don't even go there.

Getting KO'd, especially at heavyweight against 230+ lbs guys, is far more acceptable than getting out-fought and beaten up at all ranges and only winning due to your opponent being mentally ill.

Golota was injured in both fights with Bowe. What difference does it make whether his jaw, fitness, or a weak psyche failed him? He lost, he couldn't handle it... should we consider Hokyfield's second victory against Tyson irrelevant because his opponent was mentally ill? Did Grant also lose to Golota?
The facts are that Bowe was never knocked out, and Lewis was.
Does anyone really think Golota was as strong or stronger than Bowe? After all, he couldn't even stagger the over-40-year-old Ferguson, who was a much younger foil to Riddick.
The rumors about Bowe suffering brain damage before the fight with Golota are very credible. Listen to the press conference BEFORE the fight with the Pole.

    Bowe

It amazes me a man who is very good at very few things is spoken about like as if he's good at everything, but, it is not unique to this subject.

We got cats pretending Usyk can stand and bang just because he eats a hard one now and then while NOT standing still.

We got jamooks who swear Fury can move like a MW even though any MW throwing so few punches and moving so little is hella trouble at MW.

Plenty of ****ers pretend Wlad can do more than jab-n-grab despite doing anything but jabatron 5000 leading his ass to a rough night every single time.

They always back it with resume. Lennox did the winning and has the higher honors and even Bowe was a ***** on him ... Has **** all nothing to do with array of techniques performed on camera.

Bowe simply showed us more at a high level. Lennox can be the better fighter and still be lacking in bag of tricks

The trickiest mug you can watch is Joe Walcott and none of you rate in atg top 5 so wtf is your issue and why must you pretend like Lennox did **** he never even tried to do? I dunno, but I do know this:

It is no more disrespectful to Lennox to point out Bowe did more in ring than it is disrespectful to Marciano to point out Walcott had a **** ton more techniques in his arsenal. That **** happens. Kid McCoy did a lot of losing for such a sly trickey *******. Having a huge bag of tricks hardly makes for the GOAT level. Lennox a GOAT level? Probably a specialist den, let us watch. Oh snap, big man game 100% of the time, I dare say this man doesn't even know how to throw an overhead. Not overhand ya silly correcting ****, overhead was correct, it's a small man move, ask Marciano and Usyk about it.

    Bowe, by a wide margin.

The only thing we can really give Bowe credit for against Golota was that he didnt quit. He was going to fight to the end. That was basically how Grant "beat Golota. Just dont quit.
Otherwise Andrew outboxed and outpunched Bowe before he pulled defeat from the jaws of victory.
Lewis showed he was on another level when he chased Golota out of the ring right after the referees instructions. He literally beat him like he stole something.

Golota seemed to suffer from acute anxiety. Even against Bowe, he freaked out and had to foul constantly.. if he wasn't fighting so illegally, I'm not sure that Bowe wouldn't have stopped him.. on an off night. Bowe was done before Golota I. Done by '96. Too many punches to the clavicle from Holyfield (he'd turn to the ref and complain headbutt after Holyfield hit him in the clavicle).

But '93-'94, I had Bowe edging Lewis then. Lewis had such shaky legs compared to Bowe. Olympics didn't concern me. Tillman (?) beat Tyson in the amateurs in '84.. so..
