Visually it’d be a funny spectacle because of the sheer size… I’d pick quite a few folks to beat Old GF he’s just the guy who beat Micheal Moorer in a fight he was losing handily - oh and he out jabbed Briggs… Qawi was making him look really, really bad but was obese so he didn’t fair well lol. I’ll go Gene but be pretty “eh” if GF knocks his head off into the crowd with the first right hand or hook that lands.

Tunney is not proven vs punchers. I don't care how much you can box, no one is 100% unhittable. Tunney at 6'1 does not have the height to keep Foreman away.

Tunney can outbox George for long periods but considering he held his hands low, he is bound to get caught with a left hook at some point. Once he gets tagged, Foreman finishes him.

Tunney is ATG at light heavy. But at heavy, there are major question marks especially vs big punchers. Tunney managed to outbox Dempsey , who was the same height, as himself, But is a different equation vs a taller man with longer arms.

    Foreman tko 8.

Tunney wouldn't be able to beat a Foreman from the 90's, but he might be able to beat a 90-year-old Foreman.

And Jimmy Young embarrassed...knocked down...and defeated George Foreman in 1977....and an all time great like Gene Tunney couldn't beat a fat old Foreman?

Tunney was an ATG against Caucasian light heavies. Going against Big George, any version, is completely unproven territory.

It is true it is unproven territory, he also never faced a Chinese man, Ginger 175lber nor a guy who weighed exactly 187.34 lbs - total coward.

Probably this. Tunney had good movement, technique and speed which would be useful against glacially slow 90s Foreman. However Foreman is bigger than him by A LOT and he had good timing. Tunney would have to stick and move at a high level all night. If Foreman's long jab becomes a factor then Tunney might be SOL.

Did Chinese men and Gingers go on to dominate the sport and specifically the heavyweight division for 70 years?

Weren’t given the opportunities I’m afraid… now that it’s a national sport it’s opened up to fighters like Zhang who’d have feasted on the likes of Johnson, Foreman, Liston etc.

So far as we know Zhang is a one off, a 4 round fighter who hits like a mule kicks. We have a pretty sufficient track record on Black heavies. I think they're a pretty good lot.
