Doug was a former light heavyweight and about the same size as RJJ. He gave Muhammad Ali a tough go in 1963 in an ultimately losing effort. He also beat Bob Foster, though I think it was at heavyweight. Now RJJ in his light heavyweight bouts was around 185 with day before weigh ins. So he and Doug would be of similar stature.

So who would you pick in a fight between Roy and Doug?

Roy Jones at his best wins comfortably. Doug Jones was basic and Jones would by able to read him, time him and see and predict the returns of Doug Jones all night long.

Probably a decision, I think Roy Jones would be happy with a decision because Doug Jones is dangerous, he can punch and he is strong at 175lbs, so I think Roy Jones would play it safe.

    Interesting.

    Battle of the Cojones.

I’ll go with Roy in all likelihood I guess but it’s not impossible for Dougie to perhaps sleep him at some random point.

I understand and appreciate the arguments against but I’m not completely sold that prime Roy’s whiskers were all that.

Faster yes but too fast to not possibly get caught at some point? I’m not so sure.

The much slower Ruiz caught Roy pretty good early and almost spoiled the show.
