Immediately called him out after the fight and Eddie Hearn/Jaron Ennis's comments about being the biggest threat in the division. To tell you the truth, I'd rather see this fight to "build up" the Ennis/Ortiz match up than the garbage that they have been giving us. At least if successful, the Ennis/Ortiz match up will be for a title and not just who gets more hype in the moment. This is also a match up that I think Turki would get behind as he told Ennis if he was looking for "tune ups" then go work with Eddie Hearn.
We all want Ennis vs Ortiz next, that goes without next. Murtazaliev should definetly be next for the winner though. I think Ennis tried to call him out too, even though he couldn't spell his name lol. On a side note, Bakhram should really be more active. Even if It's against the lowest ranked guy by the IBF, It's still better than waiting around for a big fight spending a chunk of his prime inactive. Especially when you consider that the guy who he annihilated and left with a concussion had 2 fights since their meeting.
Nobody wants to get in the ring with Murtazaliev. Everyone has been avoiding him like a plague after he knocked out Tim. Lubin, who was his mandatory challenger opted to fight a guy with no belt than get in the ring with him. I'd love to see Murtazaliev vs Ennis. I think it'll be a great fight.
Either Vergil or Murtazaliev would be good fights for Ennis, its about time surely? Will probably end up being Baraou in order to inflate the very padded and flattering 35-0 record of Ennis.
Would love to see it. It's a dangerous fight for both guys but I think Ennis has the tools to be victorious.
Only reason it doesn't happen is that one of the parties don't want it to happen for whatever reason. Currently we see Murtazaliev demanding the fight sooooooooooo..........
We want the Ennis/Ortiz fight....but I don't see it as priority over one of them winning a world title in the division. That's silly. And Ennis didn't call him out, he simply name dropped him claiming he wanted to fight anybody.....but we see that wasn't factual because then he turned around and asked for a couple "tune up" fights before he would negotiate the Ortiz fight....... Ortiz, a guy who's yet to win a world title, but Ennis needs a tune up for him?........ Ennis is quickly becoming fools gold to me. I need him to step up and face a top dog in the division if he's going to be promoting himself as the new face of boxing. He hates the comparisons of himself to Crawford but I don't see them as parallel because when Crawford calls someone out, he goes after the title holders. Never seen Crawford request a tune up to face anyone..... First fight at 140 was a title fight. First fight at 147 was a title fight. First (only) fight at 154 was a title fight. First (only) fight at 168........ There's a pattern. With Boots, only world champion he faced was Stanionis. A guy significantly smaller than him. Well, I guess we can say Lipinets as well as he was champion for a weekend at a lower division.
I think Ennis has the tools to be victorious as well, but THINKING is much different from KNOWING he has the tools. We have yet to see Ennis step up in competition. There's always some weird factor that keeps him from going through with the bout only for him to come back and sing the same song "Nobody wants to fight me"........
If Boots beats him next the excuse would be that Murtazaliev was inactive for over a year and only beat Fundoras sloppy seconds and would be called overhyped as usual I'd rather see him destroy Ortiz first and then fight the champions, because Ortiz has the biggest fan base
Exactly. Ennis looks the goods but has yet to be fully tested. Until we see Ennis in against another top level opponent it's all speculation but based on what we've seen from both their fights Ennis is certainly the more gifted fighter of the two. But Murtazaliev is someone that I would not count out at all, not even against Ennis.
