He was always an instinctive fighter, and appeared to be very difficult to train. The idea that a guy who clearly isn't very bright, has spent his career not thinking (and has always ignored most of what he's told anyway) probably doesn't really have the knowhow to really find the last few % in anyone talented. I would think it's very unlikely he'd make a top coach...
Nah. Coaches need to be able to communicate instantly, clearly, and on the fly. It takes Wilder half an hour to say ' good morning'....
Ahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahaha. Oh wait, you're serious? Let me laugh even harder. AHAHAHAHAHHAHA. This content is protected
What the hell are you talking about? Wilder was an extremely limited boxer with a big punch, not even Wilder's best fans ever said he had decent fundamentals!
I lean more negative than positive. That said some of the best coaches are not always the guy who was the best at performing but learned and understood and could convey things that maybe they themselves could not execute. Deontay did rely on his power and athletic gifts to win but that is only a problem if he tries coaching guys to fight just like him. I would think that his experience as an Olympian and having as many pro fights and training as hard as he did would build knowledge for prepping a fighter.
