Reall? Hard to believe Gassiev fighting twice in less than half a year.

Should be more competitive than Pulev/Itauma anyway. Gassiev should get the old man out of there with a let hook to the liver after several competitive rounds.

Maybe Gassiev and Hunter can have a showdown for the WBA regular crap afterwards, as the two high potential cruiserweights who failed to deliver at heavyweight.

Decent fight at this stage, Pulev is old and definitely passed it, but if he still has his jab he can make Gassiev work for it. Gassiev has been plagued with injuries and seems lost if he can't land his one shot.

Should be relatively competitive and a good way for Gassiev, who has to be the favourite here, to get into contention.

Good match-up between two evenly matched fighters, I'm glad this means we won't have to see Itauma v Pulev.

Gassiev should win this IMO as Pulev is so faded.

I thought the Pulev vs. Itauma bout was about to be made official (and I wasn't happy about it) and I also thought Gassiev would never be world heavyweight champion. I think I was wrong then, because Gassiev, despite his slowness and limited footwork, will be facing a 44-year-old boxer who isn't faster than him and is less powerful. I'm going for Gassiev by decision or late stoppage, the Russian's superior power will be decisive.

This, Any fighter who allows himself to lose to Wallin is not a serious fighter and is not a threat to elite fighters, although Pulev is not an elite fighter he could surprise and win unless age prevents him from doing so...

Pretty good fight, Pulev has been around for a long time so idk how much he's got left in the tank, I think Gassiev probably get the KO.

So you would regard Gassiev as a world heavyweight champ if he beats Pulev?

Unless he gets Otto Wallin'd again. Which even though Pulev is ancient wouldn't completely shock me. Would love for Gassiev to turn his career around. Theoretically he's still young enough, but the inactivity, injuries and several subpar performances make it seem unlikely. Could just boil down injuries and inactivity and maybe there's still something there waiting to be unleashed.

Why Pulev? Was Rydell Booker or Chris Arreola unavailable?

Boy, Pulev has signed to fight about four guys at this point. He's going to be busy in December. ;)

Age aside, Pulev is better than Wallin. Boxes the same, too. Gassiev had no answers for Wallin. (The closeness of the cards was ridiculous.)

Pulev likely wins this. But, we'll see if Pulev signs to fight someone else next week.
