Well yeah, we’ll all cringe a bit when Eddie comes out with the ‘He’s back’ and ‘the heavyweight division is on NOTICE’, but that’s just being a boxing promoter isn’t it? These days you need the sound bites that’ll pop the crowd (although maybe not in Monte) and generate some noise and clickbait on the socials.
Turki said no more PPV DAZN on too. Shocking value in the UK these days. This month you’d get a Dave Allen fight and a Next Gen for your 25 quid or whatever it is.
It was never going to be part of a normal subscription, just the super duper premium expensive £3/400 a year subscription that was essentially you just pre-paying for PPVs. They don’t seem to be moving ahead with that for now.
I'd be interested to know what the viewing figures are for DAZN. Outside of this forum, and a couple of hard-core boxing fans I know, nobody I meet watches boxing anymore
Most people I know don’t even know fights are happening anymore. It’s too niche of a sport to stick behind a paywall streaming app.
If you wish to watch Parker v Wardley, Eubank v Benn and Benavidez v Yarde then it’ll cost you just £75 plus a DAZN subscription which is available at £25 for a month. Killing the sport. A lot of people can’t afford £100 to watch sport these days.
I reckon I've probably purchased 95% of all domestic PPV's over the last 15 years (not including any of those silly Jake Paul type events). I'm not even remotely considering getting any of their latest shows. Wardley v Parker is a good fight, not PPV worthy. Benn v Eubank 2 I couldn't care less about anymore. Benavidez v Yarde was the one I was most looking forward to, mainly because of the undercard, but I guess we can forget about that now. Where the hell is this revolutionary "game changed" "value for money" new era of sports broadcasting from DAZN? Sky Sports used to have a few too many PPV fights back in the day as well, but at least they had Premier League football, F1, cricket and darts to soften the blow of the subscription fee. What the hell does DAZN give you when you take the PPV out the equation? Mongolian synchronised swimming? Goat tickling live from Peru? what a shambles.
DAZN even charge an extra subscription to watch English National League - non league football. The much more section for subscribers has suffered the loss of Women's Champions League Football to Disney Channel. Game gone
I’m so angry mate. 3 DAZN PPV’s in the space of a few weeks. Seriously what the hell do you actually get with a DAZN subscription.
