Two iron chinned pressure fighters .
Pretty sure this would be a gruelling fight whilst it lasts

A very brutal MW clash this would have been that's for sure. Personally I think GGG wouldn't be able to handle fighting toe to toe with Tiger but he can still win if he were to box smart and using that awesome jab constantly.

    50/50 fight IMO.

Golovkin wins with no doubt in my mind.

People who think this would be a bloody slugfest in the trenches have not followed GGG's career.

He's not a slugger, he is a superb boxer who happens to have an atomic punch. Moreover, he doesn't slug with the sluggers, he boxes them. His primary weapon in that regard is his ATG jab and light footwork, which enables him to keep the opponent exactly at the optimum range for his gameplan.

My evidence is how he fought big hitters like Lemieux and Stevens. He didn't go in face-first but dismantled them at the end of his jab. He did the same with Canelo, controlling the fight with his jab.

Tiger is the archetypal slugger. He had ponderous feet and little jab to speak of. He also had an iron chin and huge punching power. He existed to maul people close in. He went up against other KO artists and whipped them at their own game.

There's not a chance in hell Golovkin throws away all his boxing pedigree and brawls with Tiger.

He would absolutely box Tiger and try to dismantle him with his jab and feet, and GGG would not be the first, or the second, or even the third fighter to UD Tiger.

It’s not an overly complicated analysis on my part… but Tiger is considered a guy you don’t brawl with and that’s fair, my issue is every shot he gets whooped with it is coming from a serious puncher at 170lbs with the same quality on his chin, GGG can go to him and win without needing to be “flighty” I’d say debatablyactuslly from what I remember of watching Tiger, GGG was less shook across his career. If it becomes a fight Tigers taking a lot more than he gives and I don’t think it’s out of the question for G to just outbox him or even TKO him, Emile Griffith hurt Tiger he wasn’t a puncher like Golovkin, It was “How” EG hit him and I think G could be very precise himself whilst I’d typically give the old timers the edge in inside fighting G was very sold everywhere it’s a losing fight at any range Tiger boxes in TG’s better off fighting someone like LaMotta, Roldan, Fullmer, Vito, Castro etc.

Tiger wasn’t really a puncher, he’d also be smaller, weaker etc GGG could fight inside too, usually I’d say the old timers had a huge edge inside but in this instance I think G has him sufficiently covered at all ranges G was very solid at everything and will be delivering serious power but not going anywhere I think TG would give before GGG if this was a brawl.

I think GGG was a full level better ... a biuhger puncher, faster , just as strong and tough ... more skilled ..

Tiger is one of the greatest fighters to ever live.. he beat Benvenuti, Torres, Giardello, Fullmer, Webb, Carter, Downes etc.. some of them multiple times.. that is an incredible resume.. an undisputed MW champion he jumped up to LHW and became undisputed there too.. as much as I like triple G (& i do admit he was dealt a rough hand in the sport) I can't pick him to beat someone like Tiger who had a far greater career & was much more proven against a host of great fighters. Unlike GGG whos legacy is essentially Jacobs & the Canelo saga.

Golovkin massacres him, he can fight how he wants when it suits him, and having the ability to do that in a fight is a huge advantage.

He’ll outbox Tiger when Tiger is fresh and he’ll be able to go through the gears as Tiger wilts.
