Wouldn't be shocked if he would still crack the top 10 if he decided to come back!

Ohh I absolutely think he would! Wouldn’t be surprised if he comes back and gets a strap or two!

After Usyk retires of course :D

That's some very impressive athleticism for a several years retired boxer with grey hair pushing 50. I don't even think I can do that many and I'm a lot younger and I've been in the gym fairly consistently for 6 months now.

I think the fast twitch explosiveness explains where his power comes from. When he drops that hammer, few can endure it.

Sorry but not impressed by cross fit pull ups. I’d be shocked if Wlad could even do 15 full range of motion non-kipping pull ups. Hes obviously a great athlete but his body type is not made to be good at pull ups. Short people with smaller legs and shorter arms have a big advantage.

Yeah, 0 pull ups were performed there… The comments about it being good for boxing performance I also disagree with.

If were going to use S&C to improve boxing performance DIRECTLY (which is questionable anyway), rather than more of a health supplement alongside boxing training (IE building general muscular and connective tissue strength and work capacity), explosive movements with the whole body under load starting from the hips would be more useful IMO..

You can do explosive pull ups with proper form that actually use the pulling muscles, if youre arguing for explosiveness and power.

edit: No hate on Wlad, hes an incredible fighter, athlete and physical specimen.

I honestly can't tell if you mean Dubois, Fury or Joshua.

Yup can do muscle ups or pull ups to the waist. But tbh wlads body is not built to do them clean.

And that might say a lot about the value of more “specific performance” style S&C for boxing, haha

@ellerbe I didn’t even bother mentioning muscle ups, because if people are defending those pull ups, they would probably think I’m talking about the cross fit momentum muscle ups where they kip so hard their body goes horizontal to generate momentum for the transition….

Probably wouldn’t struggle as much if he only fought once every 18 months like everyone else does nowadays

Actually, that clip convinced me that Wladimir will never return to boxing. But that's good.

And why? Because despite showing off a truly impressive number of reps on the bar, Wlad simply looks much older. The guy in the video is 70% of the guy who entered the ring. The guy has lost a lot of muscle mass. The same goes for his hairline, but those aren't exactly fighting back. xD
I don't think Wlad would be that crazy and actually consider fighting men in their prime at this stage of his life.
