Is there actually any fights in boxing right now that could do 1.5m-2.5m+ PPVs? AJ vs Fury? Outside of that, i dont know what could actually do a heavy number of PPVs. Theres superfights in the eyes of the hardcores but i dont know if theres actually any that would do 1.5-2.5m PPVs. I think Usyk/Fury 1 was upward of 1.5m PPVs. I dont know if there many fights that come close to that right now.
AJ V Fury would still be huge in the UK probably get at least 1.5 million PPV buys here alone, and it would sell a bit in the USA too. Genuinely unsure other than that, Usyk and Crawford don't have the right opponents out there ATM to do such PPV buys IMO.
Yeah thats what i mean, theres stars, i just dont know if the dance partners are there. Canelo vs Benavidez would push 1.5? Maybe before the Bud loss. Thats the only other one i can think of.
Obviously not much currently . The main division for superfights is heavy . At heavy we have a situation where usyk is sitting on the belts and avoiding any title defences . Normally the sactioning bodies should now step in and enforce a title defence or strip him to free up the belts but well ... money rules the world i guess . We will obviously not see any world title fights in 2025 at heavy .
There's only one true one left, the one we've all be waiting for: Parker v Usyk Otherwise: Golovkin v Bud sort of Fury v Usyk III sort of Fury v AJ sort of
If Canelo had beaten Crawford then I’d see more of a case for it. I could see a million right now but 1.5 is steep especially with American prices.
Parker V Usyk? Defo not confident about 1.5 mil in UK or America - in Australia/Oceania? I don’t know how big the market really is over there @Kiwi Fish @Kiwi Casual might know. Fury V Usyk 3 and GGG V Bud is in the past now.
I think Morvidus was being sarcastic. But yeah there is nowhere near a boxing market that size down in Oceania. Boxing is a fringe sport in NZ and though more popular in Aussie there isn't the population to support that. The only way I could see it doing that is with a very solid undercard and a low ppv price.
I think its just Fury vs Joshua left atm, the stars of this generation are all aging out, Usyk, Fury, Joshua, Wilder, Crawford, Canelo, Beterbiev, etc are all late 30s and coming to the end of their careers. There will naturally be a lull while the new talents build up and present themselves on the world stage.
I don’t think we’ll see it outside of Fury vs AJ in the UK, and good riddance. Fights should be more accessible, just put them on streaming. The PPV dick measuring needs to die.
I am pretty sure that one is going to be held in Saitama arena. Its going to be insane, and you know they will stack the card too.
Fury-Joshua in Britain Canelo-Benavidez in Mexico/America Inoue-Nakatani in Japan Crawford-Ennis and Davis-Stevenson (if they win their next fights against Paul and Lopez respectively) would be big African-American derbies
Beterbiev vs Bivol 3 in Russia (surely if they have a third fight it has to be in Russia, I know both fighters want it there)
