That is,absolute the worst possible way to do pull ups and it is a shoulder injury waiting to happen.
Your talking about greasing the groove which works .

The technique is not fine and that was one of the down falls of cross fit in doing dumb things like that.
My favorite cross fit "exercise" was TIMED dead lifts lol talk about playing wit fire.

Welp… then that’s it then. We were all kinda waiting on your stamp of approval regarding Wlad’s form and whether or not this actually really is impressive and apparently I overreacted. Oh well. And word gets around the boxing community from this forum and I hope your dismissal of his video won’t destroy Wlad’s ego too much.

“Yeah ellerbe didn’t like your form too much man. Insinuating you’re old” :ohno That’s all it takes man. Probably killed his confidence. Words are powerful ESPECIALLY coming from a fitness guru like you. Have a ****ing little bit of a heart at least. Could ya?!

Forget about a comeback and a possible record smashed now! SMDH

CST go ahead and just delete this thread would ya?

    Kipping pull ups?
Why not just ask Vitali to hold his feet?

but yes, he's in fantastic shape for his age (or any age for that matter)

This "kipping" pullup (apparantly is has an official name oooo fancy) was birthed out of the bad form of people unable to do proper pullups and then was adopted by crossfit plebians who are normally so tired from their circuits that form is not even considered anymore. I do not condone this exercise and it should be banned.

There is nothing wrong with kipping, it should just be recognised that its not a proper pull up, but a variation for a different sort of workout.

People get injured at crossfit because they do multiple intermediate to advanced lifts and exercises while pushing themselves to exhaustion regularly.

There is a lot of crossfit goers who go twice a day 5+ times a week even when relatively untrained, which is an unsustainable exercise load for the average joe. So they naturally get injured as their body can't keep up, plus they are doing these exercises which they have probably not been properly trained in and when they get tired their form breaks down.

It’s okay to point out that they’re not good pull ups. Stop the hero worship, it’s not like people are saying he wasn’t a great fighter or is in bad shape…..

They are objectively bad pull ups.

Very shitty pull ups. I'd rather do full extension pull ups only targeting the arms and lats.

I don't understand the fascination with doing exercises with horrible form just to hit a higher count. Who gives a damn when one rep with good form is much more difficult and valuable.
