Two of the most popular champs of alltime. Hard one to call. Both powerful hitters. Jack was taller more savage and faster. Rocky had better stamina. Both tough as nails. Much I don’t know about Dempsey those old fights are hard to watch. Was he smarter more skilled? I think Dempsey comes after him from start for a life and death brawl harder then Rocky ever saw from someone that good. Jack could KO him but Rocky could survive and counter with sledgehammer shots. The longer it goes the better chance Rocky wins. If my life depended on choosing I d go with Dempsey in mid round stoppage. Boxers had the most success with him. Rocky would meet him head on and Dempsey was tornado coming at you. Otherwise it’s too hard to call.

Dempsey was still on his toes late in the Brennan fight,Nearly got him out of there in the 10th with long right hand from the outside.Looked like plenty of elbows thrown by BB in this too for all the real Marciano fans to appreciate

Im wondering if the rounds available on film/youtube are the action rounds,Did he box and move in the other rounds? Film goers wanted to see violence not dancing around in them days

Looked to be dominating Gibbons in the 100degree heat too

From 12:18 in this video vs BillBrennan

Avoids/Ducks a long right hander then moves to his side
Lowers his head to just avoid a nasty looking left elbow

On his toes he throws a long straight right that goes through BB's head,Another left

Then after a bit of distance is between them he faints a right & lands a left hook

On his toes he was brilliant

Dempsey looks good but it must also be said that Brennan had no problem in eating the distance and exchanging.

Why would Dempsey want to stop him doing that?

There is no theory in the conspiracy of exclusion in boxing. There is no theory in the conspiracy of benefits in boxing.

Do any of you see Hitler as a German hero? Oh that would be gross huh? Hmm

Okay but surely Caligula was a god doe? What? Just known propaganda?

Give me a minute ... I'll think of something it is acceptable in polite society to agree to despite being counter to modern principles only because the sycophants of the era described it that way.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure does seem like if you think hitler was a good guy you are probably a bit nazi. If you think emperors are gods you probably aint christian... knowing damn well racists did the promoting, racists did the writting, racists made the structure while agreeing to it def does not make you even a bit racists. I know because saying it does gets me banned and racists are emotionally strong people.

It doesn't have to be an emotional topic tbh. If i asked do you believe in benny franks kite and key story i doubt youse guys would get so pissy. I also doubt youd cling to the propaganda.

Newton got hit by an apple?

Europe believed in flatearth until 1492?

Oh but Jack Dempsey definitely is not the creation of racist capitalists.

Rocky Marciano is definitely not a creation of cold war propaganda

Harry Greb's career is certainly verfied and def not an after the fact circle jerk of poor research from men you lot call historians ... publish by the same company as my nan ...

Jem Ward earned his title for sure as did Spring

Just throwing the net wide so you colorline clowns don't feel so attacked as to cry again. The point is not that you are racist, it is you believe in propaganda.

I dont actually give a ****, colorline, cold war, british empire, dont care, its all propaganda youse know is propaganda and believe anyway. Colorline is just who responds with indignation. Ive said marciano may be cold war propaganda heaps, no one is ever angered, i usually get an agree. Let's be clear, maybe, but there is no may for jack. He is a product of exclusion at best.

Layne could punch. Moore could certainly punch. Walcott had decent clout. Young, fast twitch punchers? Not too many, for certain.

But the reverse game can be played. How many high volume, long game, absolute pounders did Jack face?

How many fighters of any class did Layne actually ko?

Moore was a great lhvy puncher but over a 3rd of his ko victims are dross
Who of any note did Layne ko? He tko'd Satterfield who was stopped 13 times. Laybe's stoppage victims are a long line of nobodies with diabolical resumes.

Oh, I do apologize if you didn't understand but my post is 100% about how boxing history is handled.

I am open to suggestion; where should I talk about bias media other than to the men who praise that bias media?

Where do you suggest I point out Nat Fleischer's fantasy fan fics being passed off as history researched and kept by respected historians?

Is Crown propaganda in boxing history an acceptable boxing history topic for this boxing history section of the forum?
