They bob and weave in MMA, Muay Thai and kickboxing with knees, elbows, takedowns etc as a threat I can’t see why it would suddenly stop working against someone likely untrained in a street confrontation? I’m sure Dempsey didn’t quit his weave in a brawl, getting under and around a punch is the same as in the boxing ring I imagine in the case of the streets (I say as a man who would just B-line to the local police station) if you anticipate it instead of react you’ll have time to attack even if they’re going to throw a knee after the hook you got under, you still need to shift your weight etc to throw said knee I’ve seen a very good kickboxer weave against an ATG kickboxer with a lot of success.

In a street fight I find smashing a bottle in my opponent's face before he's even thought about throwing the uppercut, is the correct approach.
Then, when I get to prison, more advanced techniques coming into play, including boiling water and improvised shanks. Never been uppercutted in the street yet- or inside. But I fear waking up with someone stabbing me in the balls.

It's an ongoing learning experience this street fighting game. It's spiritual.
