Neither Wardley or Parker deserve Usyk

None of the current heavyweights are near Usyk's level but ironically, Wardley may be the most dangerous to him at the present time.

 

Boxing is just not right anymore and for a few decades now, I don't even think Usyk is that great nevermind the rest, I did think Parker had the ability to be king of the giants, but not likely now... anyway, last night.

1st off that should never have been stopped, they might look into Ref incentives to 'stop' when & if he can in favour of British Ownership interests from the powerbrokers... though more likely just an emotionally heightened stoppage on the part of the ref.

2cd, I got the RBrR info on a the forum last night before seeing it and now after seeing it as usually a lot of hyped up overstated action and actual 'connecting' punching wasn't / isn't there... some good moments undoubtedly, but overall it was a good fight, hyped as if it was a great fight, it wasn't...

just my turn, your turn 'forward & backward' movement without all the hoped or expected actual connected punches. Parker would have stayed the round, absolutely no doubt, yes he might have lost anyway in the next round or two, but guess what, so might have Wardley.

Turn those 'comentators Down or better yet, OFF altogether.

Oh dear, that means so much to me... Boxing as we know it is 150 Years Old and there have been HUNDREDS of greats to compare with.

I'll stick with the History rather than back slapping approval from 'a quite often' ill informed forum or present day smoke screen hype...

Tbf-the more time progresses, the more doubts I have for Usyk returning to the ring. Agree with the title but there is so few options. Perhaps best to pack it in and focus on new horizons. Happy for Wardley; but he ain’t gonna cut it against Usyk.

 

Well, I'm glad it's gonna be Wardley that Usyk fights, and not Parker.

At least Wardley has a punchers chance, with his heavy hands and strong chin.

Usyk likely plays with his food all fight though, and walks a wide UD.

 

If we allow Usyk the grace of having 1 defence a year, there's still enough time for Kabayel and Wardley to fight an eliminator.

 

I remember when Fury was going to fight Agit and it was labelled as a cherry pick.

 

Kabayel v Usyk is the fight I want to see,that is the most competitive fight out there at this time for Usyk .

 

Peoplw were losing their minds over it but Fury had sparred agit not long before and knew he was legit probably would have put up 12 rounds and hence didn't fight him, risk reward and would have got a bad review because people underestimate unknown names. Agit was knwon in boxing circles long before he made a name for himself but I guess the true acid test is in the ring not sparring.

 

True . There is a realistic scenario he will just sit on his belts as long as he can and feed everybody with empty promises . When stripping is imminent he might just retire and try to make a story out of it .

Imho he will fight wardley only if he can make sure wardley will fight like dubois . He will not take any risk to loose a fight should he consider wardley as dangerous .

But to be fair : we need to wait some day how usyk officially positions to this unexpected situation .

 

Itauma and Opetaia would be interesting fights but they're not close to contention right now.

Wardley hits hard and would have a go but his chances are slim, regardless of Usyk being 39 soon.

Kabayel is probably the most dangerous contender and Usyk would be around 40 if/when that happens. He's been impressive in his last three, very good to the body, undefeated and one of only five Chisora opponents who proved to be at least a level above him in my estimation, along with Fury, Vitali, Haye and Usyk.

 

Joe Joyce who beat Parker and Dubois deserves it more
