It was a hard fight and they were landing heavy punches on each other from very early on. Early on, both fighters seem to be rubbing their faces after heavy hits to check if they hadn't lost part of their face been ripped up or hand something broken.
The referee is there in the 11th round with one of those guys apparently hurt and not throwing much back, with that background context. 11th round isn't the same as 1st or 2nd. I'm not saying it was a great stoppage but it really was not that bad. Parker had his self to blame.

When there is controversy like this, it never helps. Nor being in ones hometown with a hometown ref.

With that said, I think the stoppage was probably a tad early.

and Foster has a notoriously itchy trigger finger.

when they announced him as ref i thought there would be some controversy if there was a stoppage.

that said, Parker should have took a knee and not given Foster the opportunity

Yes this is what annoyed me so much you could literally see Foster itching and jumping out of his skin like he was excited to get in there and stop it.

Problem is the ref who waved it off is notorious for diving in early and waving off fights in favour of the Brit or Brit A side in fights where he wouldn't have done the same if the Brit or Brit A side was in the same position

He even did the same in one of Fabio's other fights. Fabio was dominating but it looked like he was starting to gas IIRC and the stoppage was a complete joke. Scandalous, in fact

Coincidentally, Andy Lee was doing commentary for that fight

Parker could’ve held, taken a knee, or swung back. Early stoppage or not, Parker only has himself to blame

The trouble with Parker taking a knee is that it would have given Foster another excuse to step in. It was a bad stoppage but it wasn't the worst, and that's the problem. Nobody wants to see a return to the days when a fighter would go down a dozen times in the first three rounds but ultimately, it's boxing.

The last thing I will say on this fight is it's the offensive fighter that earns the stoppage. Looking at the form on those final few punches from Wardley, they are wild, out of control and sapped of their power. Those punches didn't deserve a stoppage.

Imagine Chisora being officiated like that. He'd have lost his last 20 fights by tko.

History would have read very differently had Foster refereed some of the great come-from-behind wins. Many would never have got the chance.

The live RBR sentiments were it was a quick stoppage and I agree.

Why are people lying about the stoppage?
Yes, Wardley went ham on Parker when he got him hurt, and Parker did not throw back and instead focused on defense. Then, shortly before the stoppage, Parker threw back two punches of his own, Wardley returned with three of his own and the ref stopped the fight. Problem being that not a single one of Wardley´s last 3 actually landed and Parker was indeed fighting back...

We have no arrived in a point in boxing where a hurt fighter is required to go to toe with their opponent when they are hurt, because focusing on defense is a no-no and the referee will stop the fight.

It all depends if the fighter is making woman gestures or not.
