I voted yes but am somewhere in between. Parker was employing good defense, slipping and blocking, and threw a punch four punches before it was stopped. I do concede that the ref might have genuinely has complex emotions, some of which were favorable to Parker's safety, but it definitely had the air of British urgency, at least subconsciously.

It was early, I don't think the ending was conclusive at all, given how Parker had recovered before in the fight. Were mostly talking about the controversy of the ending and not about how brilliant the fight was.

Imagine if Foster had been the referee for Fury/Wilder 1 it would have been waived off in the 12th and we wouldn't have got the trilogy that we did. I think both men were robbed of a conclusive ending.

Both. It was a good stoppage to preserve and prolong Parker's health and career. Yet it was still an early stoppage: Fury (vs Usyk) saved by the referee by interrupting, not stopping, and giving him a count.

Early imo. Yes, Parker was very hurt, but never went down and was still slipping a lot of the shots. Foster is notorious for this, and the UK in general is becoming notorious for stopping fights early in favor of British fighters.

    Yep was early.
Could Parker have taken a knee or clinched? Yep.
    Should he have? Yep.
Doesn't change the last three shots missing, Parker throwing back at times , and generally being aware and defending himself even if he was pretty buzzed.
No point in crying about it now though, hope Parker learned something from it.
    Would love a rematch.

I wasn't able to see it live, but watched it today and, while the stoppage was CLEARLY early, I have definitely seen worse.

Every ref needs to stop and ask themselves, "What would Steve Smoger do?"

Was this stoppage early? Eh, I don't know. I've seen way earlier ones. I think it was within the range of a reasonable stoppage.

Parker should have been aware of the ref hovering around and known he needed to show something. He didn't. He got stopped.

Seemed a bit early for me, nothing really significant landing but once again Parker not doing anything was not the best strategy.

Also, if we fans know the refferee has the habit of stopping fights early, then fighters are also definitely aware of it...

No. He'd been getting bombarded for far too long without reply at the time of the stoppage.
He offered nothing back to suggest that he was still in the fight.

For some reason, according to this referee, Defending yourself means you have to punch back.

Defending doesn't mean blocking punches and slipping punches.

I counted a total of 3 punches of any consequence actualy hitting. Just cause you. are punching someones guard, does not mean you are hurting them
