Except for Usyk, the heavyweight division has now completely turned over.

All the old guys--save the great Oleksandr Usyk--have now lost their spots, mostly with the young guys taking them.

Fury- Officially retired after losing to Usyk. May come back, or may not
Joshua- Lost his spot to Dubois
Parker- Lost his spot to Wardley, hopefully will get another chance
Whyte- Lost his spot a long time ago, but now thoroughly bumped by Ituama
Chisora- An odd case, but for the symmetry, we can associate him with Kayayel
Wilder- Finished by Parker, who has been displaced by Wardley
Ruiz- An exception who just faded away.

That generation has been vanquished. Hopefully, some of them have a few more fights in them, but this is now clearly the division or Wardley, Ituama, Kabeyal, Dubois, Hrgovic and hopefully, we can get Torrez in there too.

I like the idea but Fury and Joshua are still always there threatening the belts with 4 months of negotiations and a rematch clause.

Pulev only needs a Gasiev injury to stay in play as well.

Did you just really say Pulev has a chance?

    Charles Martin has serious competition.

Gassiev-Pulev is not appearing on Boxrec or the official WBA website. I will believe it is happening when I see it.

Let's be real though...Pulev is not part of the elite of the division. Really hasn't been since he was beating Tony Thompson, Ustinov and Dimentranko.

    This is Pulev's time.
His style will never get old because it involves no power or speed or endurance, just jabbing and clinching.
In fact nobody knows how he wins fights only that he does.
If he sticks around after Usyk retires, who knows what he can achieve.

For some reason Wlad thought he was skilled, even though Wlad landed at will with both hands. But Wlad must have felt something special in there against Pulev to believe he was the more skilled fighter than AJ in that AJ v Pulev matchup. These are the intangibles we can't see from outside the ring.

The division seems like it has turned over until you look at all the "new" names ages.

Same thing WW went through in 2023-2024 after Bud stopped Spence. A graveyard overnight.

If Fury had power he could make a Foreman style comeback but he doesn't.

Meanwhile Usyk seems to just be getting stronger albeit more static but he can be more static given most of his competition are statues especially down the stretch.

If the previous generation of Fury, AJ, Wilder and Whyte do return it will be to face each other or other ageing fighters for a cash grab.

The rumours are strong that Fury vs AJ is a done deal for next year...would be nice little earner for them both at this stage. Although neither of them need the money, greed will prevail. It usually does.

The last remnant of the previous era should be Fury and Joshua finally facing each other but Fury doesn't want it

I've never been a Joshua fan but I have to be fair and honest, I believe Joshua wants the Fury fight much more than the other way around

The last 1-2 years it's started to flip big time based on the old names declining but soon we will get new more names within the next few years like we are already starting to with Itauma.

    Itauma-20
    Torrez- 26
    Dubois- 28
    Wardley- 30
    Kabayel- 33
    Hrgovic- 33

Some will have longer careers than others but I see no great problem, here.

Otto Wallin, Joshua's best win in 6 years, is lurking in the shadows.

    How old is Parker?

Also those 3 20s and Jared Andersen are picked out of a huge lineup.
