... Had they been 15 Round fights. Fights from the 12 Rounds era that you think would've been differant had they gone 15 rounds.
Bruno V McCall. Frank was holding on for dear Life at the end of the twelve. He'd have been kod in the next I'm certain.
Call me silly but I think Hagler would have hunted down Sugar Ray and put away any doubt as to who won that fight. And I think Jose Luis Lopez stops Ike Quartey given three more rounds. At the very least he puts him on the canvas again.
Sugar Ray Leonard might have stopped Thomas Hearns again in their rematch had that fight been 15 rounds IMO. GGG would have also likely gotten a more fair decision win against Canelo had their fights gone 3 more rounds.
It’s impossible to judge because someone’s strategy and pace probably changes a good bit if he’s scheduled for 15 because he’d want to save something. I also don’t think you can put a lot of stock in someone being tired after 12 completely gassing if it was a 15-rounder … he may have trained different or fought differently to have something in the tank (as might have the other guy) — and we’ve all seen fighters get a second win or fade suddenly, so the guy who seems fresher after 12 might be exhausted after 13.
James Toney may have stopped Mike McCallum in their first fight. He had him reeling at the end of 12.
I scored the Hopkins vs Taylor for Hopkins as did many, Hopkins was finishing over the top of him and would have kept doing so with three more rounds. The rematch would have been similar i think.
