Davison saved Furys career then got binned off as a thank you.
He lived with Fury to make sure he was sticking to his training regime.
Big John Fury the fighting man who never fights didn't like Ben either.

John Fury doesn’t like any of Tyson’s trainers because he’s bitter Tyson asked them and not him, that’s the bottom line. He was slagging Sugar Hill off not long ago.

Every fighter who has gone to Davison was already a good fighter, he's standing on the shoulders of the coaches who brought these guys up. The one positive I'd say about him is he seems to have a good relationship with his fighters.

I think I have made many snarky posts here about "boxercise Ben", and I don't think all of them were undeserved, but ultimately you have to give credit where credit is due. The man clearly is deeply passionate about boxing, and has about a good as an understanding of the sport one could have if they have never experienced it first hand. Add to that he clearly cares about his fighters welfare, which brought him a lot of criticism for Lara-Wood I, but I will always respect a man who puts the fighters health first before any personal glory that might come if a fighter negates a crisis and gets the win. I don't think Davison is the best current British boxing trainer, but I think he could have been if he had an upbringing in the sport comparable to other prominent British boxing trainers. Overall to conclude my ramble, Davison certainly isn't the best about but he has done enough to command my respect.

Yup, after Roach said the tactics were wrong — but going into that fight, no one was expecting much from Tyson anyway, so it’s all hindsight awareness. I think the big reason Boxercise Ben got outed was Big John, as others have mentioned. Pretty sure it was the Wallin fight — he was brought into the studio on the night and just tore into everyone around Tyson, questioning everything.

Wilder 1 he was meant to get bashed up — much like Nigel Benn said about himself after the Gerald McClellan fight — but he ended up exposing all Wilder’s flaws instead. The rematch was just the confirmation. Arguably, that first fight was Fury’s best performance considering where he was at and what he’d come back from.

Then after the second Wilder fight, they all suddenly got validated because it was, on paper, the best performance of Tyson’s career — he was back on top. But truth be told, he probably would’ve won just as easily on the back foot — by then he had his sharpness and fitness back, with six fights in eighteen months under his belt.

Lewis Crocker did not win that fight, and you know that deep down.

Billy tactically came up with a great plan, and outdone the very highly rated Andy Lee.

The only way he outdone him is by passing envelopes to the two corrupt judges.

Boxrec Fans score is 115-111 for Donovan (from 88 scorers so far)
