My thoughts as well, he's exciting and comes to fight and that is a great commodity among todays ghastly heavyweights But,,to me his guard is off and he delivers his punches widely inviting counters . If he could tighten up his defense and box his way into delivering his power shots he could really improve. But I've been watching this sport since the 60"s and in general by this point ,,you are what you are.
I'm not a fan. But he did do us a service but beating Parker because the fandom was becoming unbearable and now it will pipe down a bit and start to confront the reality of Parker being the NZ Chisora, just more protected. It's similar to Zhang smashing Joyce and stopping that hype train. Sometimes you just need a fighter to do a job for you, it doesn't mean you have to be a genuine fan of them.
Yeah Wardley converted me. Thought he was a fraud at first, then my mind changed after the Gorman fight. He got stung in that fight but what I liked about him was that he came back harder and forced the stoppage and it told me that he isn't afraid to get into a tear up and won't die wondering. I've liked him ever since.
I,m a fan of boxers who are good for the sport and bring fresh wind and good fights into the division . So yes - i like wardley !
