Wardley, Itauma, and Kabayel should fight each other first.

Kabayel literally beat the WBC#3, then the WBC#2, then as WBC#1 he beat Zhang to become Interim. People may grumble about the quality of opponents, but as someone climbing the WBC ladder it's pretty much a perfect run.

Why the expectation for Kabayel to fight the other top contenders from the other orgs ... you know, that's kind of Usyk's job as champion

Wardley is the TBRB #1 ranked contender and the RING #2 ranked contender.
He is undefeated, coming off a huge win.

OF COURSE BEATING WARDLEY WOULD ENHANCE USYK'S HW LEGACY !

And that is true whether it's a life-and-death battle or if he ends him in the first round.

Wardley represents quite a different kind of test to what he's faced before.

On evidence harder hitting than maybe anyone he's faced at heavyweight, and determined than AJ or Dubois, and more athletic than any of them. All these strengths are contrasted against his limitations as a technician.

He would be a good win, on par with his Chisora win (which is underrated) if not better. It could easily age to become a better win than that. The fact that Usyk can still be favourite against anyone at world level at his age is unusual enough that you could argue any such win is legacy enhancing when held up against past champions.

But Wardely definitely does not represent as much of a threat or as big of a scalp as Kebabayel who Usyk is ducking rn tbhwyfam

Wardley seems very tough. Think he will lose by a shutout. Wouldn't be terribly surprised if he gasses and Usyk stops him, though. But he is resilient.

Having Wardley, a young unbeaten big punching no1 contender on his resume, only solidifies his legacy. I don’t think the fight happens but it pads out his heavyweight CV if it does.

Interesting how Floyd Mayweather always avoided prime top opponents instead fighting faded guys who had already been knocked out and always demanded home advantage, while Oleksandr Usyk fights the best prime opponents in their home countries.

Wardley would be another excellent win for Usyk.

Except that (barring a 3rd fight with Fury or AJ), it's probably (or at least possibly) the most lucrative option out there right now. Among deserving contenders, that is (excluding the likes of Jake Paul).

Why would Wardley entertain a fight against either of those 2 if he can land the Usyk fight now/next?

I strongly agree with most of what you said here, but I definitely do not believe Usyk is ducking Kabayel.
