Any manhandling Ali did to Foreman was due to experience and craftiness using leverage keeping his balance. He definitely needed some strength and being about same weight helped but he certainly was NOT as strong as Foreman.

Not sure if you’re trying to make a point, but one could easily be the strongest heavyweight ever and not be a really good fighter. He was a bodybuilder who turned pro with no prior experience at age 27. Whether he’s the strongest boxer ever, no way to really tell, but I’d bet he was one of them.

Bad, lazy writing on my part. I was suggesting, coyly, that Butterbean might be that "not really good fighter".

    Ahh, got it.

Butterbean was strong as an ox … and nearly as smart.

(Not fair and probably not true, but it’s an old joke that I like.)

Allegedly, and this is by his peers, Rahman is probably the physically strongest HW. Someone said Lennox and I think Lennox is very strong as well, but let's also remember in street clothes, Rahman locked him up.

IMO I would say top 5:
    1. Rahman
    2. Jameel Mccline
    3. Shannon Briggs
    4. Foreman
    5. Lennox

Note: Rahman, Mccline and Briggs are known for being gym muscleheads.

Double Note: This has nothing to do with who would win, who's better etc......this is about simply physical....push weight, push you around strength

I was told by some people Rahman was a "journeyman" that Lennox should be ashamed of losing to.

Maybe they meant he was on a journey at the gym.
