Both deserved to lose last night.

Buatsi even worse than Plodding Chisora and Parker a poor man's Hughie 'The Skirt' Fury.

Parker stole the fight for me but a complete stinker from start to finish.

If my pecker was as active as Buatsi last night, I would still be a virgin.

My lord the last 10 years watching Joey 12 and that garbage last night has scarred the Parker name.

The viewers are screaming no mas at their screens.

Parker won the fight clearly for me, but what a terrible main event, styles didn't gel and due to the controversy about the decision will they 'fight' again?

On watching that last night, I'd really hope not!

I’d agree that Virgil hunter probably isn’t the best fit for buatsi but you can’t lay all the blame on a trainer, hes always been the same, such a frustrating career, im really not sure what anyone’s going to do different with him, especially at this stage of his career

He has all the attributes, the experience, a decent chin and knows he can do the rounds, so begs the question what exactly is he waiting for????

Don’t forget he was offered the big £££ fight with beterbiev wasn’t he? And turned it down because it was “too soon” ironically as it’s turned out he’d have probably had more chance back then…

Yeah, I think last night just showed Buatsi’s completely plateaued. He only looks good when he’s basically got a punch bag in front of him. As soon as someone gives him movement or variety, he runs out of ideas. I honestly think even Arthur could hypnotise him into a dullfest and nick a decision, and someone like Benavidez would quite literally put him to sleep.

Still, depending on how Yarde looks next, that’s probably the fight to make — a proper domestic cashout or even a little series between them.

You have to feel for Parker, though — that was his chance. It’s a long road back for him now. Maybe a fight with Rea next makes sense.

Regarding the Cameron v Jones fight, having Queensberry’s head of boxing (Lee Eaton) managing Cameron is surely a massive conflict of interest?

I feel sorry for Parker as he clearly won the fight.

With such a negative style even had he of won you wouldn't exactly be in a rush to watch him again.

Buatsi is so hard to place, he almost has to be on a Riyadh card next because no one will be buying tickets for him at the 02.

On paper was a decent card, the action didnt deliver though

Think you are a very good poster mate just my view with Parker think his real chance was Ryder, FW had certainly backed him but hand injury or not I was surprised he sat on stool and didn't at least come out for a few rounds see if he could at least try counter JR.

It wasn't a great watch last night, type of fight that detracts from both, it's a main event a chance to showcase one is 31 other 32, neither did.

Buatsi just seems to be very one paced whoever the opponent, never feel watching him he has another gear to his work.

I didn’t catch it live but watched the replay this morning, and honestly, at best you can give Buatsi four rounds. As you said, it wasn’t a great watch — flat and one-paced for Josh, just a dull performance, and he was lucky to escape with the win.

Buatsi looked like he didn’t even want to be there, almost as if the fight was beneath him. Not quite as entitled as his trainer though, whom didn’t enter the ring. Virgil Hunter, for me, is one of the most overrated trainers in boxing — no pro experience before Ward and has lived off Andre’s name ever since. Khan went backwards under him, and most of the others he’s trained were already done.

As for Parker, I hadn’t seen a great deal of him before the Ryder fight, but I do remember he quit with an “injury” that night. Like you said, it was a Warren show and Frank rolled the dice on him — probably felt a bit let down after that. Last night’s fight was likely just another chance because both fighters are under his banner, but it feels like a dead end now.

It wasn’t an exciting fight, so there’s no real call for a rematch. Zach’s now in no man’s land, part of the “who needs him” club. A win was really his only route forward, and it’s hard to see where he goes next.

Two judges gave Buatsi four of the last five rounds, and the other three. After eight, one had Parker down by four, another by two, and the third had Zach up by two but gave Joshua the last two rounds. Cards are here: https://rtfight.com/news/scorecards-buatsi-parker-released

No idea but if you are around the age I am the main event had a Sportsnight fight BBC level feel about it. Just two European level domestic fighters.

Buatsi looked resigned at the end to defeat, Parker certainly coasted the last three or four rounds and my only excuse I could try to make for the judges was Buatsi took middle ring and pushed Parker back. Visually, not actually action wise.

He didn't land much Buatsi and one paced, Parker at no point seemed to counter other than a pot shot, if you fight that way combinations, flurries are the way you win.

Yeah, spot on — and ironically Sportsnight had some of the best theme music ever. Warren actually said in his book that the BBC used to pay around £100k for individual TV rights back in the day, and they weren’t even allowed to show anything live during the old Cartel era.

I kind of grew up being force-fed a diet of VHS boxing tapes — had no choice in the matter, really, especially since I was the only one in the house who could work the video properly. Plus, my grandad used to invite me round under some pretext, only to get me to index his ever-growing VHS collection — first thing I likely ever read was Boxing News. Generation Z and Alpha have no idea what it was like back in the pre-internet, pre-YouTube era. Different world altogether.

And funny enough, Shalom’s deal with the BBC now feels like a throwback to those Sportsnight days — only he’s running on fumes, with limited exposure. He’d probably collapse if he ever read Brick Top’s book and saw the BBC used to pay more back in the Cartel days.
