Somehow become more insufferable since returning. Last nights highlights include saying Liam Cameron is one of the most popular sportsmen in Britain. DAZN has a long list of things wrong with it and he’s gone straight to the top since worming his way back in.
Someone needs to create a Prizefighter tournament with Adam Smith, Sam Jones, Eddie, Frank Smith, Kugan, Parsons, and one open slot — and then throw Fabio Wardley in there too. Let it play out like a game of Boxing Russian Roulette to see who can avoid Fabio in the draw. You’d probably get more action and entertainment out of that than half the DAZN cards this year. Probably do a million buys on PPV too — boxing’s equivalent of The Hunger Games.
Had his narrative ready for a Cameron win. Then it looked like he'd lost so he eventually changed but then had to return to his narrative after the decision. Just shut the **** up and commentate on the action. Better still **** off .
I wish DAZN had an alternative audio option where you just hear the crowd, SkySports did it years ago with the football.
I think he’s probably an alright bloke and I’m very glad he recovered from his cancer battle, however I can’t bare him on comms. He was ruining boxing for me, then to add insult it injury, he ruined darts for me too. And now he’s back on boxing and there’s no alternative like there was when sky and tnt gave you the option.
Adam Smith is a huge fight fan, no doubt about that, commentary at times just hard to listen to. He went full Alan Partridge one night. Remember tuning in to Usyk v Bellew Manchester.......Tony Bellew BOMBER tattoo on his back reference to his punching power in no way connected to the Arania Grande concert at the same arena'
Yep when it looked like Cameron had lost he was saying Cameron is finished, age and inactivity, too slow bla bla… then the scores were announced and he was going on like he had him winning all along. The fact he’s made an instagram account and called himself ‘the voice of boxing’ sums the bloke up. Absolutely loves the sound of his own voice. Last night he didn’t shut the f up.
Not to make light of that horrible tragedy but I couldn't help but laugh at that one, why the **** would anyone think a tattoo on a white scouse fella would have anything to do with a terrorist attack. Mental comment.
Quite similar to how he is at boxing I’d say. It’s more the endless ramblings about back stories of the players that I can’t abide rather than the over excitement.
I don't feel as strongly as many of you do re Smith, but definitely understand the concerns. DAZN should definitely offer a no commentary soundtrack. Amazon offer a "Stadium FX" option for their football rights which I'm a fan of.
