(THIS IS NOT A WHO WOULD WIN!)
Which brother was better overall, I have heard cases for both. Wlad had a great jab and was very technical but I think I'd side with Vitali because his power and toughness and especially with the way used his lead hand (I have had success in fights using similar lead hand attacks.) Looking forward to your arguments for each brother.

Wladimir was better more proven against better opposition.

    Better technical skills.

    Way more single puncher power.

    Better jab.

Vitali would win certain stylistic match ups that Wladimir wouldn't win due to his iron chin and good workrate.

But overall Wladimir would beat more past Heavyweights than Vitali would IMO.

Wladimir proved more. So on paper he has to be considered "the best"

But in my opinion Vitali would beat him H2H.

Wlad BY FAR. Vitali's claim to fame is his losing effort to old, out of shape Lewis and the fact that he was never KDed. That's it really. Wlad was more skilled, was better technicaly, he was a stronger puncher and his resume and accomplishments are levels above Vitali's. Vitali's best wins are Sanders and Peter (whom Wlad also beat twice). Wlad beat Byrd, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye, Povetkin and Pulev. Vitali's record against Top 10 competition is 7-2. Wlad's is 15-4. 18 title defences to 10. Vitali never unified nor beat the other leading contender. Never was universally recognized as THE champion. The only thing Vitali has on Wlad is the chin. But he had a glass body, which affected his career way more than Wlad's glass jaw. H2H stuff is just a matter of opinion which we can't verify.

Where did the notion that Vitali has more power than Wlad come from? I know it's the minority opinion but it's like saying you think Frazier hits harder than Tyson. Have no clue how the notion surfaced in the first place.

Byrd said in an interview once that Wladimir hit like 4x as hard as Vitali.

He said 3x harder, haha. Overall, Freddie Roach said Wlad had a stronger right hand then Tyson. Emmanuel Steward said the same. Most powerful puncher he's ever worked with. And he trained Lennox Lewis. Vitali wasn't a big puncher. Surely he could punch as any 250 lbs man would, but he wasn't a puncher. Kevin Johnson (fought Vitali sparred Wlad) said getting hit by Vitali is like getting his by Caddilac while getting hit by Wlad is like getting hit by a huge truck. Phil Jackson rated Vitali's power levels below Wlad's, Briedis who sparred both, also said Wlad hits much, much harder. People who sparred or fought both brothers say is that their power isn't even comparable, it's leagues apart.

I thought Vitali had more skills and toughness.

Vitali was better, and Vitali would do better against ATGs. It comes down to toughness. Wlad had a mediocre at best chin that I think disqualifies him from beating an ATG puncher like Lewis, Tyson, or Foreman.

Vitali was also more relaxed, thus had better stamina.

Vlad was better overall but Vitali had a difficult style and a grit that Vlad didn't have. It's close between the two but I would say Vlad was better.

It's stupid probably but I am more impressed by Vitali's losing effort to Lewis than Wlad's entire career

That said, clearly Wlad stacked more accolades.

Its like Djokovic v Federer. Djokovic is better but theres people who'd already made up their minds in 2008 and weren't open to changing their opinion under any circumstances.

Vitali higher % can be attributed to a combination of his greater mean streak, volume of punches, and also having fewer fights.

A quick visit to youtube highlight reels answers the question of power… Wlad was really one shot destroying people…

So, basically a bunch of wouldas. We don't know how Wlad would fair against Lewis (his right hand might have slept Lennox), but Vitali fought him. He fought him while he was old and the worst shape of his life. Still got stopped. His toughness didn't help, lol.
