    Who, how and why?

I feel this is one of the greatest dream matchups possible....it would be very action packed!

I think it's an amazing fight .. Chavez was bigger and stringer but Armstrong was just s tough and faster ... Maybe Armstrong wins by finishing what Taylor couldn't

I'm going to go with Armstrong via tight decision. Guy was an energizer bunny. He had great durability, endless stamina and went at it all night long. He's brilliant inside and i think he'd slightly get the better there overall. This won't be like Rosario being a bit out of his depth chest to chest, it's exactly where Hank wants to be. Great fight.

Julio was the best lightweight I have ever seen maybe including Duran. Armstrong wants to get in the well? Julio is there with his hard hat on.

    Decision to JCC.

"Hospital or Morgue" is the only decision Julio will be taking here

    Hank TKO before the 9th.

Im gonna go with Armstrong on points close but clear. He just might outwork Julio. Two elites not betting this one.

    Terrific fight no doubt.

Chavez looked sensational against Rosario but I think he didn´t reach his peak till junior welter.

Armstrong was superb at lightweight even weighing the same poundage during Welterweight title defenses.

Chavez could be more versatile than given credit for. He boxed mostly on the retreat in his first title win against the big punching and pre fight favourite Mario Martinez (good fight) to win his 1st world title fight

I think it would go the same as Taylor-Chavez I except Armstrong not wilting as he takes a sensational fight by close but fair decision.

His only problem might be losing points for low blows!

Very tough call for me. Chavez just had more dimensions to his game so im going with him by a razor thin decision

There is absolutely no way that Armstrong is stopping Chavez. Absolutely none. He may beat him, but if this fight ends early it will be Chavez stopping Armstrong.

If Armstrong doesn’t get stopped then he probably wins. His speed and output would take it on the cards. Not a fight I’d bet on either way though

    Armstrong decision

Man, Chavez is an all-time great.. I think I'll watch Chavez-Rosario again.. but Armstrong is the GOAT level- capable of fighting middleweights (here and there)

I see this one being fairly close, with Armstrong finishing stronger over the last third of the fight and winning by clear close unanimous decision. No way he comes anywhere near knocking Chavez out.

Love Chavez, but I've seen him flustered when things are not going his way.
Against Hammerin Hank, things wouldn't go his way
Would Chavez stay the course? Knowing he's losing by staying inside against the ever coming forward Armstrong. Armstrong doesn't get flustered, he doesn't change tactics, and he has a nuclear power plant for endurance. Meaning one round or fifteen, his pace will not change.

Never saw Chavez adopt a more hit and move tactic. Even in fights he loss against bigger or stronger opponents. He never seemed to have a Plan B. But his Plan A was devastating, so very few survived it.
But That's what would be necessary against Armstrong, a more of a tactical approach, especially at lightweight.
A heck of a fight for about 10 rds.
But slowly but surely Armstrongs relentless pressure would grind Chavez down.
Armstrong wins a split decision in 12rds - 15rds he wins much more convincingly.

    Hi Guys.
Great matchup, my thought process would go like this, Armstrong was batteresselly unmeceslly by Zivic in their title fight, both eyes shut, had a badly cut mouth, the first Ambers fight he shipped a awful lot of punishment, Chavez was a very good fighter up close, few did it better, plus he hit a lot harder than either Zivic or Ambers, and was a much better fighter, so anything they could do, Julio could do, and his punches carried much more weight, I foresee a fairly even fight up until the last third of a 15 rounder, but due to swelling and cuts, Armstrong will be rescued by a compassinot referee whilst still chugging forward in round 13/14, Chavez on the other hand completely unmarked.
stay safe fellow posters, chat soon.
    Mike.

Hank was stopped 2 times in 180 fights including numerous elite fighters. Once, in his first ever pro fight, and secondly vs ATG welterweight Fritzie Zivic at 147 pounds when past his very best. There's as much chance of Armstrong getting stopped as Chavez, or even less, which is really saying something.
