I’ve had Hagler ahead by two points every time I’ve seen the Leonard fight so I have a terrible time imagining prime Hagler losing. Marvin had it all imo, Ray was the same…at Welterweight (post-Duran 1).
One of the differences between the fight that actually happened and a fight that could have happened in '83 is that Hagler would have had the agility and athleticism to cause more damage once he had Leonard hurt (which a painfully slow Hagler did at least twice in the 87 fight). Still, Leonard is too tenacious to be stopped. Competitive throughout, but Hagler wins 9-6 ish.
Probably Hagler, but not by much. Leonard was by far the greater fighter P4P; even a fading Hagler should've been able to beat Leonard, considering he had been out for 3 years and was two weights above his natural weight.
Hagler ... Ray sized Hagler up perfectly jus like Crawford did Canelo ... Ray would never had beaten the prime Hagler, never.
