Rahman would win with the jab on most nights.

Mercer s conditioning and relentless engine would make the difference here.
Wearing Rahman down in the latter rounds and either getting a points win or late stoppage.

Two guys with a lot of tools who could be prone to underperforming

    Two very good jabbers

    Mercer takes the better punch

Thinking Rahman has enough to out box him but he could just as easily get caught, fade and be stopped

Mercer could occasionally come into the ring unprepared and inconsistent. But, at his best, he is a much better fighter than Hasim Rahman.

Mercer, on his best night, is better in just about every way except maybe 1 punch power.

Better work rate, fundamentals, hand speed, defence, chin.

I think Rahman was the better boxer but I’m guessing this turns into a slugfest. Not sure who wins but it’s a great fight no matter what.

Worse at winning rounds behind a jab.

Get out of my mind! This matchup was floating around up there after I read the Rahman thread.

I think either man has a solid shot at winning, but there's too many variables for me to make a proper decision on what would happen. Obviously, Mercer by stoppage or Rahman on points.
