Murtazaliev v Josh Kelly for the IBF in Newcastle. Wood v Warrington 2 in Nottingham. — The latter is a bit of a last cash grab for both but I’m intrigued by the Kelly fight. He’s improved steadily (and under the radar) since the Avanesyan loss.
Who on earth really wanted to see Wood vs Warrington again other than bank managers or wives? Total cash out and it could still go either way.
I thought Warrington had called it a day? I would like to see Josh Kelly finally turn potential into reality. That would be something.
I like Josh, and he’s looked good since the Avanesyan loss, but only at a certain level. As much as I’ll support him and want him to win, I think the gap in levels will be too much to bridge. Murtazaliev looked a serious piece of work against Tszyu, and I can only see Kelly getting wiped out – but I really do hope he finds a way to outbox him. Wood v Warrington is what it is.
It's great how well Josh Kelly has done after that bad loss to Avanesyan. I know there was talk of a possible Conor Benn fight in the future. Hopefully that could happen one day.
Josh Kelly is a good fight. The 2nd one is dross, just shows how horrendous the MR stable is when they are sticking this up.
Kelly gets a bit to much stick imo, he's very skilful/talented and fringe world level. If this was a 6 or 8 rounder, I reckon Kelly would win . I expect him to be very sharp early on. But can't see him keeping Murtazaliev off for a full 12 rounds. Murtazaliev is a beast and arguably the best in the division.
You know your boxing mate and I also think Kelly is going to get wiped out in this fight . There will be no way back.
Why are people banned for opposing Kelly in this fight? This fight is going to be a big ask for him and he must be the underdog.
