He should be able to clear his name though, if he throws enough money at it.
Dillian Whyte and Conor Benn were found to be using far more performancing-enhancing susbstances than cocaine (which is really used as a recreational thing) and 'cleared' themselves with money.
Parker must have a lot of money in the bank.

Parker is innocent, if by any chance Joshua was accused then it would be logical to believe that. Parker did nothing wrong...

Agree. Too many naive people to get this. It's too easy to not do this.... He creates a big matchmaking problem.

Taking a bit of cocaine or having shady characters in your circle doesn't mean you are a fake nice guy, though, and Parker has done a lot for the sport. I went to school with people who could fit into both of these categories, but they are not necessarily bad people. They have family or childhood friends who are bad people, but that doesn't make them automatically bad by association. People are complex and make mistakes. This might not apply to Parker; he could be guilty as hell, but there is nuance here.

Also, respectfully, the stuff about protected demographics is simply untrue. I lived in Australia and New Zealand for years. Kiwis, especially, do not allow anyone with a high profile to get away with anything; there are dozens of examples, but the most high-profile is Manu Vatuvei, a big rugby league player who was charged in the same sting that Parker was allegedly part of. Russell Packer, another pro rugby player, was actually jailed for assault in Australia, and is of Maori descent. Steve Pokere is a former All Black who also served years in prison for fraud, too. These were all big news stories at the time.

Parker, if he is guilty, which is still unproven, would've likely benefited from the legal connections of Fury/Kinahan and had the best criminal lawyers in the world advising him—nothing to do with his indigenous heritage. It's simply a case of having a lot of money; the divide is between those who have money and those who don't, not because people have different skin colours or heritage. It might be the cause in other colonies, but definitely not in NZ.

The result makes no sense to me, hopefully we get a proper explanation in time.

I didn't even think of the fury kinahan connection. Great post!

    Excellent post.

My personal take on this is that the positive cocaine test doesn't necessarily make me more likely to believe that Parker is on PEDs, I think it may be more a sign that Parker's discipline and professionalism slipped. He paid the price.

If you slow-mo the stoppage loss, you can see the ref reaching into his pocket just before jumping in and, when he does, he swipes his hand in front of Parker's nose.

While he wasn't exactly right I feel DynamicPuncher still gets his victory lap. He still called Parker looking like he was on drugs which is very astute observation.
