Terrible news Mark Kaylor has passed away at the age of 64.Mark was one of my top five favourites of all time, so this news has both shocked and saddened me.An extremely tough fighter, may he rest in peace.I will always remember him with great fondness

    RIP.
I'm a bit surprised at this. 64 is on the young side these days and i remember he was living in California and working as a fitness instructor in his retirement.

Mark Kaylor would have been earning millions per fight if he'd come along a few years later. Look at the two generations of Benn and Eubank for an example.

Had to come back on here to reply to this.

Very sad news , terrific boxer from the 80s .

I heard about 18 months ago from his son that he was in poor health , memory loss, dementia. He had been in good health up until a few years ago then a fairly quick slide into bad health. His boxing career claimed his health I'm afraid.
Good fighter in a great era.
Took the cartel to court after his career, nothing about it on the Internet now, it was settled out of court his manager Lawless was keeping the fighters purses as low as he could as he was on a split of the promoting profits with Duff Astaire Levine etc
They short paid so many fighters
Kaylor got a payday from that and set himself and his family up in California.
His wife Pat had a good Job with the local schools authority. His eldest son went in the US Army . He worked part time for a good few years as a PT and boxing coach for beginners and one on one coaching .
    Led a very private life.
Many clients never knew he'd been a pro fighter.
    Real shame.
I'd recommend the DVD ' Fighters ' which featured him.
