I saw one of the Super heavyweight's fight and he looked pretty good. Decked his opponent twice. Looks to be a good build for amateur boxing, nimble for a big guy uses his height well, with a good straight left that can score points.
Sounds a lot better there, dude. If someone else had posted that ****, I would have just ignored it and put it down to just another ****head racist. But your posts are generally a cut above, both in tone and quality. I think Rui mixed up his metaphors. He should have said "grow a set, not grow a dick...." Finally, I have to agree with some of your original point regarding judging. I believe my countryman Eagan, was the victim of some questionable calls in the light-heavy finals. Close bout, but a couple of strange calls.
To be truthful my original post was done quite flippantly.. I have no hate for anyone, and i truly was a bit miffed that its always the host nation that seem to have some kind of amazing twilight zone OLympic year when its thier turn.. The point in question becomes more obvious when you look at the 88 Mercer final v (A Korean Heavyweight) and the 2008 Super heavy final where Camarelli boxed (A Chinese Super heavyweight) Yet neither country have reputation for great fighters in these weight categories.. The racist comments were not aimed in any direction but maybe i had been so pissed at seeing the way the ignorant regime were demolishing hundreds of houses irregardless of who lived in them, to put the Birdsnest stadia and the Olympics together.. I didn't like the whole underbelly of how this Olympiad was structured.. Its not the Boxers fault in any way , but the system that the Chinese employed along with the poor scoring and judging that ensued.. The only time i was shocked by a fighter in the Superheavys , by way of underdog savvy, was when paea Wolfgram grabbed a medal in 96.. God bless..
Good heavies come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Zhang, the Chineese heavy got a lucky draw, and won his first medal match when the Ukrain fighter who beat him in the world amatuer had to withdraw with a elbow injury. The Chineese light heavy was awful, and received good juding. However, Schming, the flyweight is very good.
Oh i couldn't agree more, and China did have a few very schooled fighters in the mix, but i always wonder why the host nation have always grabbed a bagful of medals, just in that exact year.. what difference should it make if they are hosting it or not......88 Roy Jones loss...... to a Korean... in Korea.. Same year Mercer fought his final bout against a Korean Heavyweight.. at heavyweight or superheavy in the past we have had names like Tillman , Biggs, Damiani, Mercer, Bowe, Lennox, Donald, Nicholson, clay bey, Savon, Izon, Defiagbon, Dokiwari, Klitschko, Povetkin, Harrison, Peter, Brock.. Then we get a Chinese guy who wins silver .. who's name escapes me..
Not sure why host countries win medals but its the same with football/world cup and euro cup. Host teams usually win or do very well...maybe support of home crowd?
Never trust judges that can't look you straight in the eye. China made the biggest mockery of the Olympics I have ever seen.
yeah man I feel you on this one but c'mon there is no place for such anger and racism in this day and age...who knows before you pass you may have a Chinese member in your family.:huh
Go back and re-read the whole thread. Big Cat wrote in haste and has since apologized, and that take a lot of balls !
I didn't watch much of the boxing, but as far as the gymnasts go I don't think there should be an argument here. Do they look 10 years old to me? definitely....but, BUT even if they are 10 years old for example they proved they are some of the best in the world! Of course the rules are you have to be 16, but like I said if they are younger than that I wouldn't care because to the athletes 16 and over they should be able to beat a 10 year old! It'd be like having a 10 year old kid on the track team, and he smokes everybody. OR boxing against a 10 year old, and he outscores you. How bad do you suck when you have little children beating you? Your mentally/ physichally more developed, and you should have much more experience. If you lose to a 4th grader you deserve to lose no matter what the rules are IMO!
