    Norton ( 1973- 76 version)
    Thomas (1983-85 version)

    15 rounds
I make Norton the winner by decision, but The jab of Thomas makes it extremely close.

    Good match.
Thomas would be a little stronger. Norton a shade quicker. Alot would depend on how Ken defends Pinklon left jab. If he can avoid it he probably controls the fight.

I think it could be an interesting fight for sure.
Thomas s stiff jab would definitely cause Norton problems.

Good match up,Fergy. Like yourself,I see Ken taking it on points but the Thomas who won the WBC title from Tim Witherspoon makes it competitive for the reason you say.

Just imagine a prime Ken Norton coming along ten years later than he did. He could have been undisputed champion, at least for a short while.

Norton relatively comfortable points decision if they’re both at their best.

Norton isn’t only better, he has a very bad style for Pinklon Thomas to deal with.

Pinklon's offense was based on his jab and as we've seen against Ali and Holmes Norton has tools to nullify it. Kenny by UD.

I agree mate, he had more going for him than a good few of the alphabet boys.

Norton had a seriously underrated jab that gave Ali trouble , that jab would upset Thomas's own jab and force him into exchanges which Norton would win. Thomas doesn't have the power to rock Norton so he loses a UD or gets stopped late around 12. Norton is simply a level above him.

Very good fight. Im giving Ken Norton a vote here for a decision win. While Pinklon Thomas was truly an exceptional talent, he relied very heavily on that outstanding left jab he had a bit too much. Norton being an Eddie Futch trained fighter was good at nullifying even the greatest of jabs and giving the very best of boxers problems. Of course Ken had that shaky chin to worry about and Pink COULD punch. But his power wasn’t quite on the level of destroyers like Foreman or Shavers.

That Norton is better and has the stylistic advantage over Thomas is true and that should equal a decisive win, my knee-jerk feeling was that my guts anticipated a total dogfight of unclear winner...winnerness. So, obviously there's an anatomical and physiological process going on from one of my knees to the intestines. I probably just have a parasite but it's also possible that this would've been a dogfight and that I can sense it.

Norton, but Pinklon is a live dog. Very, very tough.
