Will you be buying the DAZN Ultamite subscription?

No, I dont really see the value in it. Maybe if they also covered more sports sort of like espn+

After being a dazn defender over the years 2025 has eroded my enjoyment of the app as it feels like they are ppv every other event these days. I didn't get how eubank benn 2 was ppv in the us!? A domestic British fight with no title on the line.

With espn+ losing boxing and ufc and blacking out most local games im probably dropping them too

 

Thought about it but as a previous DAZN subscriber they always offer a discount after coming out with an offer like this. Never take their first offer they absolutely will discount this package before end of year when the fish don’t bite.

 

I would if I could — I’m going to watch all those PPVs anyway. My DAZN scrip is through Apple (I must have used Apple Pay), and I have no option to switch to ultimate. wtf?

Nope, cancelled DAZN a while back and the subscription ends this month. I have thought about continuing my subscription, and even thought about the new package deal... but just now I saw that they made the upcoming Benavidez card into a PPV, and this has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Its clearly a last minute decision due to the roll out of the new package, and I dont like such business moves. **** em.

That **** is $450 in the states. Pretty hefty price tag, especially when turkey and Hearn said no more PPV starting next year. They got to try to get our money somehow.

 

Nope, the outrageous price boxing fans have to pay to watch the sport is why it's becoming less relevant in sports culture, especially in the US. Promoters can't see it, though; all they see is money. PPV used to be for undisputed heavyweight fights, then big grudge matches, then FOTY rematches, and every time Naseem fought, because he was "box office," even though he never beat or fought anyone that elite. It then spiralled down to a point where we end up with Shakur vs DLS and Itauma vs Whyte on PPV.

Accessibility is key to the health of any sport, and if hardcore boxing fans are not going to pay this price, how do they expect to bring in new fans or attract casuals? Does anyone really think a fight like Joshua vs Paul would've knocked Tyson vs Holyfield completely out of the news cycle 30 years ago?

 

Boxing desperately needs a centralized governing body. It's way too fragmented. And it's left the sport in the hands of a bunch of greedy grifters trying to squeeze every last dollar they can from the fans. It's hard to grow the sport with this model.

 

99% percent of the big/interesting fights are easy to find on a pirate stream, surprised boxing still thinks high prices are the way to go

The Nov. 29 Gradus Kraus vs. Rostam Ibrahim / Hughie Fury vs. Michael Webster fight from Rotterdam is just the latest to be promoted in various places as being on DAZN -- with no sign whatsoever on the DAZN app itself of the fight being scheduled for carriage there. This happens with easily a double-digit percentage of fight listings I see.... and sometimes they pop the fight on at the 11th hour and you have to be a sleuth to find it on the site/app.

As for the tech, it works fine on my laptop but don't get me started on how lousy it works on my Samsung TV.

They get lots of good fights and I'm frankly hooked.... but also frankly.... the app totally sucks....
