I'd probably go for a Naz KO, in a competitive fight. P4P, for my money, Prince Naseem Hamed is one of the hardest hitters boxing has seen in the last 20 years. Seriously he hit like a hard hitting welterweight. Freakish , Freakish power. I just cannot imagine him not catching McGuigan and knocking him out. Barry McGuigan for me is a bit overrated as a fighter, I reckon he loses to most elite boxers.
Barry was a wicked body puncher. Could box when needed (Laporte), surprising reach (70 inches to Hamed´s 64) and good power but was hittable. Hamed was a wicked puncher, quite amazing at the power he generated. Awful defense, great recuperate powers but showed in the Barrera fight and to a lesser extent in Manuel Medina, Paul Ingle and Kevin Kelley fights the blue print to beating him. Could McGuigan do it? If he could survive the early rounds he could do some real damage and start winning rounds. It all boils down to chin, does Barry have a sturdy enough chin (like Barrera) to walk through anything he was hit with? I don´t think so, he was dropped by Jean-Marc Renard, hurt badly by Laporte in a fight he was dominating, hard to forget the three knockdowns by average punching Steve Cruz and I can never forget his Commonwealth gold medal win over Turmat Sogolik where he was given a standing eight (very early in the video link below) and rocked throughout before taking an unwarranted win over Sogolik who was badly robbed of top honours. So sooner or later Hamed is going to nail Barry´s less than iron chin. My guess, Barry starts off well until walking into a bomb in the 3rd, survives and comes blazing back in the 4th only to be crushed brutally in the 5th. This content is protected
