I'm not sure Hearn has the clout to lure a world champion, particularly a PBC champion to the uk. He can only do it with purse bids and he normally loses those. When was the last time a non attached world champion came to the uk for a voluntary defence.
Is there a Charles Martin in that division? So far Benn is largely following the AJ playbook... Build up against bin men (except Benn shoud have lost to one) Grudge match for PPV loot (Whyte / Eubank) Buy a world title (Martin) Take a risk and cash out (Wlad)
Yeah there's three >> Barrios, Crocker and Romero. All of those wouldn't usually be good enough to win a world title.
Yeah, same here — even with the discount it’s hard to justify when the content quality and stability have been so hit-or-miss. I’ll wait and see how the Queensberry lineup looks before committing again.
QP going to DAZN was a big disappointment for me. I'd enjoyed what Frank had done on BT and latterly TNT sport, was following his fighters and although the fare he served up there often had too much pudding, he retained a good eye for up and coming talent. With his shows I still felt engaged in UK boxing, whereas once they finished I just started to feel quite distanced from the sport. I'm not following QP over to DAZN though and thus putting money in Team Benn and the supporting cast of shysters who made a mockery of British boxing.
QP announced Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev and Javokhir Ummataliev, wonder where they will put them on shows
Whittaker is fighting this weekend on DAZN for the first time. There seems to be very little attention in the media or amongst casuals about it.
Wonder what Black Friday offer DAZN will come up with. My bet is it'll attract next to no new customers and just rile the few existing ones they already retain.
