I wouldn't call it sad. It was deserved. His last two performances against Scull and Crawford were not worthy of PFP status.
Canelo sucks and he probably smells. If he was any good he wouldn't have lost in that fashion to Crawford. He really needs the rematch to atleast prove it was an off night.
No sadness from me. All good things come to an end. He's had an exceptionally long career and reached heights few do. Canelo's left his mark on boxing history.
Good riddance. He should have never even been on the PFP list. He's massively overrated. Got his ass handed to him twice by smaller fighters and couldn't get past a past his prime GGG without the help from the judges and his promoter.
Yeah, Canelo knew he was shot. He just strutted around Turkey saying "I was born ready" and the man wrote him a blank check.
Haney over Canelo at this stage is logical. Canelo was a great fighter but looks to be a shadow of his former self.
For me it's not sad, I've never been a Canelo fan and Father Time is Undefeated. Canelo has been in decline for some time.
hes had a dream career, no tears need be shed. leaves a legacy of high achievements and memorable fights. both in losing and winning. and may yet have a great one left.
Say what you will about Clenelo, whether it be the numerous gifts from the judges, him should having many more Ls on his CV than he does, his stacked deck, the Clenbuterol, ducking fighters etc. I can list many many instances of him having beaten world champs and world class opponents not only his size but bigger or much bigger, whereas, conversely, no one can say the same about Haney ever having done so once sans possibly Norman and I'm not remotely confident he did so in that instance either because if he was rehydrating up to 165 vs Rougarou at 140 and he looked much bigger at 147 vs Norman he could've been 170 to 173 on fight night and I doubt Norman would've been near that Beating world champions your size should be the bare minimum requirement for a P4P ranking
