After all the hype around 'Next Gen' and his brilliant ability to self-promote, how will Chris Eubank Jr be remembered?

For me, he was a decent enough fighter at a certain level. Never really world class. Similar to Benn, he's a good athlete, but technically not great.

Spent too much time not challenging himself fully during his prime and probably looked for money over legacy.

He did take on some decent fighters, but he had far too many easy fights were the outcome was largely a forgone conclusion. If he had moved through the levels, facing increasingly difficult opposition who could challenge him, he may have gotten more out of himself and developed into a better boxer.

I view him like a better version of these YouTube fighters, or a lesser version of a former world champion on the slide who at the end of their career can get opportunities based on their name rather than recent performances. That's who eubank is similar too; he could get paydays he didn't deserve based on his name, and he largely based his career around that. Why take risks when you can ride the gravy train?

A very intelligent individual in terms of promotion and understanding his value. A very fit and solid fighter who used his father's name to good effect but also that came with a burden as well I suppose.

Eubank Jnr is either a fringe world level fighter or maybe even a level below that, however I do respect the guy.

If he retires which he probably should, I wish him all the best.

His career highlight was destroying that Turkish lad and then making his thug coach back down after he initiated a staredown.

He actually looked like a warhorse in that era. Then he messed around and went to different coaches, ruining the destroyer style that his dad instilled in him.

Came up with a reputation in the gyms for being a bit of an animal. Used ti take beatings but kept coming.

I think he liked that and never learned how to box until it was far too late and it took away all his best attributes.

I'd say he's probably achieved about right for his skill in terms of the sport but over paid!

    He will barely be remembered

Ultimately a fringe world level operator who tried his best to entertain the fans. Had he retired and sailed off into the sunset after the first Benn fight he’d have been remembered a lot more fondly. Pretty crazy career and had to overcome the mental trauma of subjecting Blackwell to severe brain damage too.

One of my favourite KOs that. Everything about that particular fight was class from the ring walk to the KO to the pre match mayhem when that lunatic Ahmet Oner told Eubank’s minder that he was going bang his missus in his own bed.

He should have been a world champion considering Middleweight has been weak.
Always chose money, and careful matchmaking based on profiles rather than becoming a legitimate world champion.

Remember the GGG fight malarkey, he likely never had any intention whatsoever of taking that fight. It was just to raise his profile.

Fringe world level fighter, Mayweather wannabe who's been in some exciting fights.Quite similar to Yarde that he's done well to maximise his earnings.

But I'd have preferred to have seen him roll the dice against an Alimkhanuly, Lara, Adames and gone for a proper world title. Don't think I've ever come across a boxer as uninterested in world titles as him. All about the money, fame, bling bling with him. Very plastic and pretentious. I'd imagine he'll be in reality TV programmes for a long time after he retires.

I reckon there’s a chance he goes into bare knuckle. Love him or hate him the guy loves to scrap and there seems to be a trend of over the hill boxers thinking they will wipe the floor with people in bare knuckle; can’t imagine Eubank will be any different. And the guy loves a pound note doesn’t he. If the money is good I can see him doing it.

Used to fight in bursts and got for walks blowing out of his arse in his early days agaisnt journeymen. Strange as this is the time the engine myth began.

Did well in the second half of the Saunders fight.

Had to take his boxies and gay gloves off to make middleweight more than once in his mid twenties.

Looked good against outgunned opponents like Spike and Blackwell.

Accidentally on purpose lost his pen.

Went in the tournament for money, went in survival mode and was dropped numerous times against Groves which were not counted. Was then staggered by Groves during the only time he went on the attack which was when Groves had one arm.

Spoke about Canelo none stop, knowing full well he still hadn’t been to the stationary shop.

Picked on people he knew was shot to pieces like Degale and Williams.

Somehow a fighter wanting Canelo was given free rides for fighting the likes of Marcus Morrison who had already well and truly found his level.

After lots of talk about fighting a lad his own weight he shits himself as he knows what would have happened and picked on his little, big brother instead. Another lad who’d only fought two weights below where he’d been at. Another he thought was well past it and got absolutely wiped out by a superb stoppage. Conned the nation that it wasn’t a fair stoppage. Got the rematch, won far less convincingly against an injured man but didn’t have to give a rematch for the decider because his surname meant he should have won the first time anyway, you know the time he was absolutely flopped..

Instead of kicking on from winning the rematch and subscribing to the warriors code, he chased a freak show fight. Signed a contract to fight at the weight he was having to take his boxies and gay gloves off a decade earlier, then bitched and played the victim about it for years.

Went life and death with a midget. Won but lost his toenails. Played the victim for more time.

Got beat up and dropped again.

I said for years he’d never fight anyone he wasn’t favourite to win. I called him a con man many times. Maybe Simon Jordan’s charlatan shout is more apt.

Could have been a decent challenger. Chased the money, fair enough but that means he shouldn’t be take seriously as he never, ever went for it except that tournament and we know why that was. We know he knew he couldn’t win that.

Would have been a no one had it not been for his name, he’s decent enough, of course but he wouldn’t have had everything stacked in his favour, would have had to take competitive fights to earn his money and would have lost and spewed it.

Nice guy, brilliant self-promoter and made a ton of money. Good luck to him.

Would’ve definitely won a world title if managed better. His undoing was not having a promoter. For example, Saunders picked up a vacant world title against Shefat Isufi. There was nobody getting Eubank into positions like that.

Arguably one of the most articulate fighters from these shores in recent years. A great self-promoter too, and he managed it without selling his soul or shorting himself. He did it his own way in the end, made a fortune, and hopefully he’s got the smarts to keep it.

Obviously he traded off his father’s name, but in my opinion no one did more to sabotage his career and peak years than Senior. Don’t think Junior ever truly reached whatever his peak might’ve been – for plenty of reasons – but he found his level, milked it for all it was worth, and at his best had a great engine.

Doing it his way and refusing to tie himself to a promoter long-term ultimately cost him any real shot at leaving a legacy like his father, but he still carved out a career entirely on his own terms.

George Groves pretty much ended his career back in early 2018. It was after that he lost confidence & kept moving to different trainers
