It was a fun fight. But really quite poor quality. And the state of TKV with his floppy man moobs.

I don't know where I stand on this argument, but I'd like to see it play out. Some great domestic fights if Dave is thrown into the mix.

Yeah, Allen has a far tighter guard.

What happens if he manages to become well schooled? He's a huge bag of potential right now.

Has the Wardley fights, especially the second, taken something out of Clarke?

He drew with Wardley not that long ago. But that tells us something about both of them.

Oh most definitely! I think even without the wardley fights though he’d have settled at the same level

I was forced to play sad violin music and open Clarke's picture on Boxrec...

Well I suppose his background puts a hard cap on how much he can technically improve, and assume when the wheels finally come off it will be spectacular, and possibly embarrassing. But in the meantime he continues to accrete experience and know-how, which you can't teach. A version of Wardley who is savvy, crafty and has seen it all before seems a pretty scary thing, against any opposition. It's the Heavyweights after all, where technical flaws can be accommodated.

I don't think there are 10 heavyweights that could be Hrgo. Sanchez and Torrez definitely couldn't. Don't think Parker or Wardley could either.

Clarke sure had equilibrium issues at the conclusion of the later rounds.

The right fighter won in my opinion TKV is the British Champion, however if TKV suddenly thinks he is capable of beating any fighter above Clarkes level then a reality check is incoming.

Perhaps TKV can use some of his purse to buy a bra for his moobs

Despite the fight not exactly being top drawer, it is good to see British title fights back on free terrestrial television.

Actually, that's the real take away from this. A British Title fight on terrestrial TV. BBC 2 also; not some niche channel. Good stuff, and at least the lads put on an effort-fest for the occasion.

Agreed. You look at the other superheavies who can really crack, they’re all missing some intangible (AJ, Dubois, some will say they lack confidence, grit, determination, instincts when hurt, etc) or something physical (Zhang’s lack of stamina, Ituama may be lack of stamina, Bakole’s slow ass feet, etc).

Wardley lacks NOTHING other than proper schooling and experience. Power, strength, size, stamina, hand and foot speed, athleticism, determination, good instincts in a firefight and when hurt, chin, recovery. He’s like a level 1 character who started out with maxed out stats. And he’s even a likable dude with a great story, and a Brit on top of it (for marketability).

He’s 30. I look forward to what he can accomplish over the next 5 years. I expect it’ll have highs and lows but that in the end he’ll retire financially set and as an interesting story in boxing history. And of course, will likely retire as a bit of a what if — what if a 12yr old Wardley had walked into a reputable boxing gym?

sorry, don’t mean to glaze him. I’m just a fan.
