Exactly. It's about time these guys fought each other.

 

One of the great fights in the sport at the moment, glad they've both finally signed, something to look forward to for 2026. I will say this, though, I can see it being a woeful fight. If Teo is at 100% there's no reason he shouldn't win this. He's faced much better opposition and is more of a natural 140. I don't think Shakur has the power to earn Teo's respect either. I could see him winning on points through volume in a close fight where Shakur claims a robbery at the end.

 

I feel like Stevenson’s got the worst possible style for Teo

 

Great fight for the sport props to both for getting it done. If shakur can take teo's punch he should outbox him to a 8-4 type of fight.

Do you mean the William Zepeda fight? Because that wasn't especially competitive imo, Shakur won that wide while intentionally handicapping himself. Teofimo can't deal with movers or counter-punchers. Shakur will toy with him. Simply different levels and a massively favourable style match-up. Teofimo will look clueless while Shakur picks him apart.

 

i think this fight will hinge on how much respect teo shows shakurs punch. if he can get teos respect, it should get him the win. if teo decides shakur doesnt have the pop to hurt him, hes gonna outdo and outpoint shakur, who hasnt been in against someone this athletic.
the problem is teo is not a very good general. if his initial strategy works out like they planned, he looks aces. but if the big plan gets taken apart by the opponent, teo gets lost. so both possibilities are there against shakur. teo could look aces, or ass.

Agreed but I think Lopez takes it. Shakur has never been in with someone his own size. I think that Teo is going to be too physically strong for him.

If this is a tactical fight i am fine with it. The level is high enough. Let them box and i will enjoy it on a tactical/technical level. I enjoy watching amateur fights, too.
