Wow loving seeing some Ernie Schaaf footage other than the lethargic sick version vs Primo. You can see a spry aggressive man here with a good pumping jab. To me he’s the best heavy of the 30s not to hold the title. I wonder if this was from the Sharkey Maloney card at Yankee stadium.
This may be upscaled, but he's clearly working with much better preserved source footage than most people on YouTube. Some of those guys will post "upscaled" videos of fights from the 70's that clearly used terrible 360p footage ripped from other Youtube channels as their source. Like dude, what the hell is the point? Garbage in, garbage out.
I said the very same thing in the first Klompton released footage, yeah good originals, high quality restoration imagery. Nice to see that not only do Old Eras & fighters look normal so now we can definitely factor in that most of them did it every month or so, or less even. Different mind sets of past generations made for tougher people.
Did you notice Steve synced in radio broadcast audio with the silent footage on a few of the older fights?
Schmeling-Dudas And Torres-Tiger seem to be playing at the wrong speed. At least three of those guys usually look much, much faster than that; especially Torres, who was almost as blazing a combination puncher as Patterson.
