Would a win over Shakur Stevenson solidify Teofimo Lopez's case as a Hall of Famer?

Now that Teofimo is set to face Shakur Stevenson next month this is a huge opportunity for him to prove his doubters wrong once again in an important fight. If Teofimo Lopez actually manages to pull off a convincing win over Shakur Stevenson would this officially solidify his status as not only a top P4P fighter but also a future HOFer?

Shakur is rightfully favored against Teofimo but as we've seen before Teo is no stranger in pulling off a surprise performance and upset when he burst Lomachenko and Taylor's bubble. Of course style make fights and Shakur's defense and skills should be poison for Teo who usually underperforms against boxers that move. Still, it would be quite an astonishing achievement if Teo actually finds a way to win. Beating top fighters like Lomachenko, Taylor and then Shakur would be unreal. It's not guaranteed but it's also not impossible for Lopez.

The winner is definitely HOF. The two best guys in the division going at it. Tank should be ashamed of himself

Yehh Devin just beat Brian Norman. Teo and Shakur are about to fight. While Tank wanted to fight Jake Paul, disgraceful.

I think the bookies have this one wrong. I think, despite Shakur having the better skills, that Teo is too big and athletic whilst extremely skilled in his own way. I think he’ll find a way to win it provided the best version of Teo shows up.

A win would do more for Shakur in my opinion even if he is the betting favourite. He’s the one moving up, and to this day Teo holds better top-level wins. He is a more valuable win than Shakur would be if Teo beat him. Either way though, I think the winner definitely gets closer to future HOF status. Especially as they each have 1 or 2 jumps in weight and good prospects of winning titles in them.

Haney got big balls too. Tank is so good but he fought the weakest guy out of the lot in the Garcia. Least he could do is take a 50-50 fight at 135 against Shakur[/QUOTE]

When the likes of Vinny Pazienza are inducted, I don't know why any half-serious boxing fan would pay any mind to this 'accolade.'

Hall of fame means very little.

I think a win would certainly put him on a Halll of Fame trajectory. Haney appears on a similar path.

    Yes

Lineal champion in 2 divisions, with wins over Loma, Josh Taylor and Shakur (if he wins), indicates a HOF level fighter, and he’s still in his 20s

Teofimo can be an insufferable and delusional tool from time to time but I still can't deny his talents and capabilities when he puts it all together on his best nights. I honestly think beating a guy like Shakur would be an impressive string of victories over top level southpaws at a young age.

do you think teo is actually bigger than shakur? you may be correct, but i'm reserving judgement until i see them in the ring. i think that both these dudes have been taking advantage of their youth to gain size advantage in their fights thus far. but...they're both getting to be about the age where it might start to be really bad if they sweat down too far...
