Zhang, Parker, Fury, Fury, Fury, Ortiz, Ortiz, Stiverne, Stiverne.

Does he really still have a reputation for not taking big fights? I mean, he had a deserved reputation at one point, but he's taken a lot of punishment to lose that rep since then, I think. I mean, yeah, he's looking washed up and it's not the main point you're making but...a little respek in that name.

Wilder got his power from his speed and snap which he lost and got beat up by Parker and Zhang, so no, Canelo has fought much more dangerous opponents

I love Wardley but Usyk would stand him on his head and completely outbox him. He’s definitely not ‘avoiding’ him, it’s just not a fight that sells.

If there is anyone in boxing today who has earned the right to cherrypick a washed up opponent....it's Usyk.

Anyone may cherrypick. Totally fine as long as they don't keep the f-in belts and hold the division hostage. Usyk has had pretty much the greatest non cherry career we have running right now.

But wilder is a big fat cherry. Lose the belts and have all the cherries you want. But of course the fighters need the belts to say I am the big thing... And challengers wait. I want to see kabayel fight dubois or wardley or something. They won't if no belt is on the line.

Usyk is the best by far right now. I want to see the ones behind him fight for second place. I want belts dangled in front of them. Then it is actually preferrable for usyk to fight wilder and co, as he beats anyone anyways.

We just had a dreadful time in super middle with canelo Holding the division hostage and fighting ryder, gg3, berlanga etc instead of taking benavidez' challenge...

Really don't need that at heavy.

PS: people need to stop saying Wilder is dangerous and can end any fight any moment. If he ever could, it was way in the past. By that logic klitschko could do the same now. Look at wilder's recent resume...

Usyk is on the way out. He might have 1-2 fights left. Wilder is significantly diminished at this stage but it completes a sweep of the era. Usyk was still at CW when Fury beat Wlad and, once Usyk did move up, he cleaned out HW comprehensively - no standouts remain. Fury, AJ, Dubois (all twice) after doing the same at CW. The only name left out is Wilder but thats mostly d/t Wilder who became obsessed w Fury then hired an Onlyfans trainer, etc.

Usyk is the undisputed king of avoidance. How many title fights has Usyk fought compared to Canelo? Are all the answers on this discussion page applying double standards? Usyk's actions would have been criticized by boxing fans in the past—avoiding fights against Parker and Wardley. Their skill levels are undeniable, but if you hold a title, defending it is your responsibility and obligation; otherwise, you should relinquish it. George Foreman was stripped of his title after failing to defend it when he became world heavyweight champion for the second time. The same should apply to Usyk. But I find it strange that everyone is so considerate of Usyk; who is considering the boxing fans? Furthermore, without Turki, the unification fight between Usyk and Fury would never have happened. Fury is worth at most tens of millions, let alone Usyk.

The problem for Usyk is that he's beaten everyone worth beating and should retire, but I do believe the only reason he hasn't retired is because he wants the Moses Itauma fight. I believe that's the only fight that could get his juices going. Wilder etc they're just names to keep him active. I think the reason he's chose Wilder is because of a slight question that get people talking and that's what if Wilder lands? To Usyk that's more of a sellable fight than say against Wardley.

    A bit of a difference.

Tyson was a massive name unlike Wilder.

Tyson was undefeated for 5 years coming into the Lewis fight and was a top 2 rated Heavyweight.

Unlike Wilder who is 2-4 in the last 5 years and is not a top 10 rated Heavyweight.

When has Usyk who has essentially fought on the road his whole career been a coddled diva like Canelo who has benefited from crooked and corrupt promoters, judges, and referees? What a stupid post
