Fightnews.com just posted that Paul is being considered as an opponent on December 6. Does anyone have anymore info. I hope he fights Margarito instead.

Not only will it be more commercially viable to fight Margarito but he has a much better chance of winning as well. So I don't think we'll see Williams vs. De La Hoya.

Don't get your hopes up...He just joins Pacquiao,Mora,Cotto-Margarito winner LOL,Hatton and no other Mexican fighter,No Puertorican fighter and the fighter that wants a WAR which DLH said he wanted to go out on. This guyis so FULL OF CRAP! At this point who cares who he fights next!

Just read that myself and if Paul choses DLH over Margarito he is a ducker.

De La Hoya would beat Williams.
(I say Oscar takes the easier fight)

Then see what that set's up, Say Cinco de Mayo 2009?

Yup, fighter lie about retirement all the time-Hopkins was supposed to retire before 40, DLH before 30-I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in a fight on Cinco de Mayo 2009.

I've been a huge De La Hoya fan over the years, but I don't feel he can beat Williams. IMO he's not active enough from the outside and he tends to think rather than flow. Williams' jab would give De La Hoya major problems. De La Hoya would be forced to be the aggressor and more than likely he'd load up with shots all night long and become predictable. He's not comfortable when playing the role of the bull.

Good post. I think Oscar is just playing mind games with the fans. Williams has a date in November and I believe Margarito too. Both would drop their schedules to fight Oscar. A Margarito vs Oscar would be more competitive due to Oscar still having some speed and movement. I too believe if Oscar loses to either, he will be back. He will not want to end his career with a loss. Both guys are the top of the WW division so either guy would generate great respect for Oscar to end his career.

I don't understand? I have read threads saying that Margarito is ducking Williams not the other way around. They just want to make the money by fighting Oscar. I would do the same. All of these fighters will still be around after Oscar fights ?????

You know who you're dealing with, right?

Mr. "Margarito's power is close to Trinidad's" in his explanation for why Margarito beats a prime Vargas.

Williams already offered 4 mill to Margarito. Margarito has been silent on it for the most part. so you mean Margarito is a ducker?:deal

It is the Oscar sweepstakes!! Every fighter wants this fight and Oscar is playing with everyone. This is bull****, when is this going to end? We are almost in September and he has no opponent. Is he really going to be ready to fight by December 6. Remember, whoever he picks, he is going to have to come up with a great gameplan to beat whoever it is. This takes time and time is running out.
