If it had been any other fighter then he would have been crucified, but for Opetaia there is always an excuse, Opetaia is not that good and that will come to light at some point, if you have even the slightest difficulty against a non-elite fighter of 40 years old then something needs to be fixed.

What's this? Bro we all know you would be smugly gloating acting like you saw something nobody else did if he managed to pull it off... Now it's "I was kinda right" "he would have won if he was younger" blah blah. Briedis very likely would have beaten Opetaia in both fights if he was a bit younger, that's not the case here. Opetaia is simply the more talented operator and that was clearly evident some rough moments aside.

I mean Opetaia himself critiqued his own performance.

I can't ****ing win with you can I? It's me not caring at this point, because I'm so far behind. Boxing has been pretty meaningless lately. Had I been up in Kirk's there's no way I'd have taken that risk. Stop desperately trying to make everything into a ****ing issue, just to discredit me. I said Cinkara might give him issues, and I'd said breaking his cheekbone was an issue.

Haven’t sat through the full fight but just seen the KO and the sequence where Jai got rocked. Will this help Zurdo find his cojones?

Then again, I’ll probably end up picking Benavidez to beat him.

What I took from that is that Jai is a warrior who loves to scrap no safety first BS he wants a tear up. He paid the price in the second round but recovered well and delivered another devastating one punch KO.

    Ain't that the truth.

If Badou Jack gets past Noel Mikaelian next weekend, should Opetaia not fight for Jack's WBC belt just because Jack is 42 years old?

I suspect it'll be moot because Jack will continue to duck Opetaia and since Opetaia is not ranked by the WBC (don't get me started on the Alphabet Soup...) Badou sadly won't be forced to face Jai in order to keep his WeBeCrooks belt. Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.

Opetaia could box much more circumspect with his footwork, agility and skills.

He doesn’t because he has a warriors mentality and wants to wreck his opponent (and invariably does).

Of course he's not unbeatable (no one in the history of boxing is) but he’s willing to mix it up with anyone. He should be admired for this.
Not his fault that the other Cruiser titlists don’t have his mindset.

Poor IQ, a little bit like former 140-147 champ Meldrick Taylor who had speed but chose to stand and trade to much.

Care to convey this analysis to the Badou Jack and Zurdo Ramirez camps...? Maybe they'll listen to you and stop ducking him!

Good comparison but Jai has legitimate power to mix it up with. Meldrick was lightning fast but had no pop in his punches. The mindsets are similar though.
