What's the Classics thoughts on this Thai battler? As with most Thai fighters Kittikasem started in Muay Thai before going into boxing. And like many Thai boxers Kittikasem was a very rugged aggressive action fighter. He was the first 2 weight division champion from Thailand having won titles at Light Flyweight and Flyweight. Also fought some great fighters such as Jung Koo Chang, Michael Carbajal, Alberto Jimenez, Sot Chitalada, Yuri Arbachakov. Kittikasem's first fights with Sot Chitalada and Tacy Macalos, both being world title fights. Kittikasem wins the IBF Light Flyweight title against Tacy Macalos in a terrific war via SD and would later stop him in a rematch. After being dethroned by Michael Carbajal the Thai would later move up to Flyweight where he stopped fellow Thai fighter Sot Chitalada to take the WBC Flyweight title in yet another great battle. Kittikasem's second fight with Arbachakov. Although he comes up short yet again he puts up a valiant effort against the brilliant technician. A more competitive fight than the first and also a good watch. This content is protected
If you guys haven't seen it yet do check out Kittikasem's fight with Jung Koo Chang. Very grueling back and forth war. The Korean Hawk looked like he was on his way to victory while also scoring knockdowns in his favor until the very last round where Kittikasem pulls off a come from behind stoppage. Chang was so close to retiring on a win but Kittikasem had no quit in him. Rough and dirty at times but also fast paced bruising action. Brilliant fight from these two warriors.
Only seen a few of his fights but dude brought it to the ring. And one of the best names in the sport in the 1990's.
